Checkout assistant: I told you before: you are NOT allowed in here now! And tell all your weird cosplay friends as well! That guy in the armour with the horns and the.. codpiece – I had to look that up – was just plain creepy!
Modest: The Prince was here!?!
Checkout assistant: Yes, that’s what he called himself… he was claiming to have stolen all the chocodiles, too. Anyway, you’re both on the banned board now, *indicates pinboard with CCTV stills pinned up* – see? – so get- hey, give that photo back! You- Ah! Let me go!!! You can’t just drag me off like this – it’s false imprisonment, and I’ve got a store to run!
Later, at the police station…
Station Commander (examining photo of Prince Dragul): Well, miss, you’d better be able to back up this statement-
Checkout assistant: False imprisonment, I’m telling you!
Station Commander: Never mind that, ma’am! The chocodile junkies among my officers will tear her limb-from-limb – Pokémon or no Pokémon!
Modest: Really? All right!! EVERYONE! I KNOW WHERE THE CHOCODILES ARE! GRAB YOUR HEAVY GEAR AND MEET UP BY THE TOILETS!!!
And, in less time than you would think:
Station Commander: Prince Dragul, I am arresting you for grand larceny and fraud. You have the right to remain silent. You have the right to an attorney. If you do not have an attorney, the state will provide one. If you’re wondering why I’m using the New York Miranda-Escobedo procedure… the medusa suggested it. Do you understand these rights as I have explained them to you?
Prince Dragul: You DARE?! You don’t even have jurisdiction here! And what is this “attorney” you speak of?
Modest: My card! *hands over “card”*
Prince Dragul: *examines it* A fish… eating sticks… edible roll… *traces outline of sheep with finger* …ridiculous girl. *points at “card” contemptuously* You think I would entrust you to counsel me and contest this argument on my behalf? (to Commander) I’ll take the state-provided attorney, Captain!

Ah, I see. Everyone who isn’t in the Jake household has a reality filter and just sees Modest as a weird kid. (And can’t appreciate her uniqueness.)

Ok, I just wanna say, Jake, I found this web comic on complete accident, looking for realistic pics of the Wither (a minecraft boss enemy) and found the scene right before we find out who the horse was. I decided to read from the start, and I TORE through the entirety of this in a few days. I loved reading of the adventures (and, at times, misadventures) of you, Modest, and Co. This is the first web comic I’ve ever read, and I’m loving it so far. Keep up the good work!

Oh my god, I started reading this a few days ago
Friend of mine linked me the comic where she steals Jakes birthday money, and I started from the beginning, read the whole thing in a day,
And I have to say, this has been the most adorable, and one of the most entertaining webcomics I’ve ever read, and panel 4 of this one,
Her face, sums that last statement up.
She just looks so triumphant and cute, it’s hilarious.

This got me to thinking, I really hope we get to see her go to school. That’s going to be an amazing disaster. ^_^
So, I wore my Modest Medusa T-shirt to Origins Game Faire and it got me lynched in a game of Ultimate Werewolf because the Ghost thought that “Man” was a good clue and everyone thought he was spelling Modest. Stupid ghost.
