I’m still working on getting the Kumoricon panel video up. Maybe I’ll have it figured out by Friday? In the meantime here’s me and Nick on the UltraPublications podcast talking about Modest Medusa and the upcoming Magical Land of Yeld rpg. It’s about an 1 and 45 minutes, and for the first 30 minutes I’m kind of hard to hear. It’s probably worth suffering through if you’re interested in learning more about the upcoming game. Also, we have a facebook page for The Magical Land of Yeld. There’s barely anything there, but the plan is to update with new info and art every day or two. We’ll see how that goes.
UPDATE! Got it figured out. Here’s the first part of the Kumoricon panel.
Dubious Medusa at Kumoricon 2012 part 1 from Jake At Celstyle on Vimeo.
You can see the other 4 parts here. The whole thing is like an hour and 40 minutes, but it’s good stuff! We spend a lot of time talking about Helicopter Batman.
That pirate coming out of the smoke is really cool. What kind of creature is it that gets pushed off of the ledge? He’s cute; I hope he survives and gets a one-shot about his fate or something.
He’s one of the guards that hang around the castle. We’ve seen them a few times. We saw one at the inn as well, and there’s one in the Mermaid Hunters book. He totally survived the fall too, so don’t worry.
Cool background effects! 🙂
Oh, and I’m happy the cute creature is not dead!
psssh it was only a 50 foot fall onto jagged rocks and crashing waves so a couple cracked ribs maybe a busted leg
Stealth Carlos for the win!
Carlos being badass. Stabbin’ time!
STOP, Stabbin’ Time!
Wow, unnamed guard number 1’s day is off to a rough start.
I think a ship crashing into the side of your fortress by way of weird dragon spinal magic WAS the alarm.
Why don’t you just steal a boat? Or buy one with the treasure.
Yeah, it does seem that Marah might have wrecked their craft. The Captain looks totally badass as he leaves the ship’s wreckage, though.
tat is one BA spear
There goes Pikachu. 😛
“If we get out of here alive, I’ll get you two boats!”
Wait… in the last panel are they all doing the “Captain Morgan” pose?
Was that on purpose?
Oh god, they are. I guess they got a little captain in them!
I’m thinkin they might not want to be on that ledge with those two dark knights…
I think I finally figured out the arm gear.
(oops, posted before finished. sorry.)
I think I finally figured out the arm gear. That spear looks heavy as hell. The spearhead alone must weigh thirty pounds. And it was the head that the gear arm held when she threw it, and the gear arm holds it now.
Still no idea where it came from, though. Or the spear, for that matter. Are you gonna tell us, Jake?
yes. The spear is the subject of an extra 11 page comic in the Season 2 book. You’ll have to wait till then to find out more.
That’s not a Pikachu, it’s a Poogle. Get your pet monsters straight.
I have to say, the last few days have been excellent. Love the artwork lately; you’ve improved a lot since this thing got started.
For the record, that’s a ‘ship,’ not a ‘boat.’ The sailors should know the difference.
