– The digital version of The Magical Land of Yeld RPG is now available for sale. You can get it from the Modest Medusa store, DrivethruRPG/RPGNOW or Indie Press Revolution(soon). Books should be available for sale in December.
Hi everyone. My name is Jake Richmond, creator of Modest Medusa! Starting this month I’m opening the Modest Medusa art archive and offering over 800 pages of original comic strips for sale!
For just $6 each! See all the details and find out how to order here!
Up top, ‘too’ should be ‘to’.
Dang, Rip Lamia. That reads like a gruesome way to go. Was the daughter of the deep the mermaid that wasn’t turned to stone/petrified by Modest’s snakes? Forgot her name ^^’
Jenny. Yeah. “Daughter of the Deep” is a common name for mermaids in Yeld.
:tears: Goodbye Auntie!
(Magic TO them, one o eh?)
Hi Jake, love your comic.
I hate to be ‘that guy’ but in the 2nd speech bubble of Modest it should be “magic to them” instead of “too them”.
Didn’t see any comment on it yet, maybe awaiting moderation.
Keep up the good work.
That had a very Cerebus feel to it.
Yeah, It was a “Gerhard doesn’t want to draw backgrounds, but Sim wants to letter” day.
…
So, back to Portland, then?
Well at least she isn’t dead, but that is a very dire warning
I really wonder where Jake is going to go with this. Modest has to learn her magic if for no other reason than not to have accidents with it. I like to think she’ll come back when she’s older and stronger. Her sisters should not be out of her life forever.
Finally, I wonder if their mother will find out that she’s lost another sister and what if any reaction she’ll have to that.
Is she bringing her sisters back with her?
I’ve seen too much Monster Musume to wanna entertain the notion of dead lamias.
Miia is best-o girl!
It would be great having a bunch of Modest’s sisters living in this world. Jake’s hair would turn grey of course… school would never be the same either!
Poor Gorgon. Poor Lamia.
But, I thought hydras didn’t really start to develop until they were fostered (or hidden) various places. If Modest hadn’t come along, would her sisters have started maturing back at the castle?
Possibly not. But actually yes. If you have the Yeld rpg you can see that several of her sisters escaped into the tunnels under the castle and live in a little area called Tunnel Town. The oldest sister amongthem is called Tunnel Lord, and she helps her sisters escape their mother.
Yeah, no. If every part of her is gone, she’s definitely still alive.
Yeah, there should at least have been a bloodstain…
But then again, Lamia’s younger sisters have seriously outlived the normal hydra lifespan, so even if she lived then…
There almost certainly was. She describes a Shepherd finding Lamia’s basket and trap. Probably there was enough remains to make it clear what happened. Naga’s description was probably what she was told as a child, when her mother didn’t want her to hear the Shepherd say “Here’s some odds and ends chunks of your daughter I found floating in the marsh”.
Am I the only one who thinks that Modest looks a bit more mature in these last few pages?
Her Head-Snakes are definitely bigger now, which kinda gives off a more mature look.
Her appearance drifts from page to page.
Minor URL note — today’s page is “there-and-back” instead of the usual “there-and-back-again”.
Oh, weird. Fixed now. Thanks.
