you tryin’ to give me the diabeetus? Cmon now
Fats and protein. I guess apples have enough carbs and fiber.
Pretty sure flour has carbs.
I want to find out what Modest can do to better control her snakes from biting people or what she can do about having those episodes where they invade her mind with dark/mean thoughts… Will there be more on that in the future?
Buy the essentials – like cheese and cheese and cheese and cheese.
ok, stupid question: why are they buying hams instead of eating the meat aunty hunts?
Auntie can’t butcher a deer and the kids are too small to just swallow it whole. Plus selling deer she catches is probably how Naga pays for other things the girls need. Also, they may just like ham more.
Plus ham has been cured so it’ll last a bit longer, again, something Auntie can’t do.
Because fried ham is bacon. And nothing is better than bacon. Except the chocodiles, of cause.
Fried ham is still ham. Ham is made from the hind leg of the pig, whereas bacon usually comes from the belly or loin.
If you could, would you eat nothing but (very large…can’t catch tiny rabbits or set snares with no hands, so very large) game hunted right around your house (can’t go far without a babysitter) and what your kids gather and pick OR would you hunt and gather a larger amount, and trade it with others, so you can have some variety PLUS all the things you can buy that you can’t catch or pick?
When I lived on the farm, we never even tried to butcher our own cattle, and our nice modern electric freezer could hold a surprising amount of a cow, and keep it edible for the months it took for several generations of a large family to eat it all.
My first thought was also that they were living off deer and apples, and that chicken, mushrooms, and potatoes were a special occasion.
I see toilet paper isn’t on the list of necessities. Guess we use banana leaves in Yeld.
They don’t have cheeks to get poo caught in. XD
Probably three seashells, though that seems a bit Spartan…
They forgot the green eggs…sigh kids these days
I’m looking at Jaime’s expressions in the first and last panel and find myself concerned for Auntie Naga.
Jamie looks like marah from the older comics.
I thought so too when I was drawing him. That never seemed to be the case in his previous appearances though, I need to work on that.
When did he appear in earlier comics?
Jamie was the innkeeper that Maraha nd Modest met when they first came to Yeld.
Also it would be a cool idea to have Jamie be a reincarnated marah
Well, he’s older than Marah was and they had met before, but sure. Having a reincarnated Marah would be neat and weird.
I always imagined she got to join the ranks of the Drudge Angels, still wielding her dragon bone spear.
OMG that cow! He looks totally freaked out to be around all those little medusalings!
Pretty sure he’s mostly freaking out over the big one.
Y’know, the one that might EAT him.
Why does Naga have white speech bubbles here?
Is she trying to sound less scary if humans are around?
I totally forgot to draw her black word balloons. I’ll have to fix that when I have time.
