I hope and pray Jake did that because we all said they were sweaters for Hair, even though I know in my heart of hearts he’s more than likely had this planned in advance.
First time I’ve seen somebody call Modest He in the comic, and with the snake hair genders, I am not sure if that’s intended or not (kinda hope it is, though, because I’ve been hoping for a while for an arc that addresses the oddities with Medusa’s species and how to address gender with them [e.g. if the species even goes by gender binaries or not])
I’ve been wanting to find a chance to dig into Hydra and Serpent Oracle culture and traditions more, but an opportunity hasn’t presented itself yet. I think living outside that culture Modest’s experiences will be different. We’ll have to see what happens as she grows up.
Did not think of that, or know what Nonsens meant, until your reply about the color. But yeah, now I see it, I assume, a lot of people are going to see it that way.
I think the most suggestive-looking part isn’t the color, it’s the little ridge right behind the snake’s head in the last panel; it doesn’t look quite as suggestive in panel 3 here, or in the following comic (the sock looks more smooth in that one)
Well, Modest’s mom eats her young, so it is a given she would be weird about them.
So it was a package of snake sweaters after all!

I did already have the strip written. But it was nice to see we were on the same page.

Also, looks like snake hair sweaters was right!
We’ll see about the he next strip.

That hair sure looks interesting now. … I mean, we are keeping it all PG, right?
Oh. Hah.
Maybe I should have chosen a different color for the sock.
I didn’t think of anything when I saw the socked hair…
Bless you

Hair likes the gift :3 nice
I know we all said sweater, but now there’s a possibility that Hair is instead considering a life of robbery.
The Hairs are going to invent a new game. It may or may not involve big people.
Modest doesn’t know who hoodie girl is. For all they know, she and Meg do indeed have the same mom. A bigamist mom!
Thats true!
