Hey everyone. This is the very last week to get your Pirates shirt. We’ll only be offering these till Saturday. After that they’re gone! You can get yours here for just $20. Men and women’s sizes available in white, green, red and blue.
First mistake was thinking the crew was just Capt. Jasper and a band of Carloses and that your little math trick would take them all out.
Second mistake is focusing all your attention on one Raccoon and forgetting the other one.
Third mistake…. ummmmm…. Raccoon isn’t really left handed.
Nice Princes Bride reference. Also, I think something really stupid is about to happen. 🙂
I like that Medusa thinks about herself coming to a conclusion and saying “Oh” before she says “Oh” for real. Hilarious.
This situation has just gone from Bad to Amazing. XD

When faced with drastic change and stress, the juvenile Medusa employs perhaps her most unique defense: the famed Double Eureka.

The shirt illustration is really nice, but I don’t know if I want to get it. Is this going to end in a total party kill?
Thats fine. I know I’ve been mentioning it a lot, but thats just because I want to make sure that people know that it’s only available for a little bit and that they have a chance to get it while they can.
You should make children’s cartoons Jake! As has been mentioned multiple times, your portrayal of a young character is very likable and relatable, as well as gosh darn cute and cuddly!
Thanks. I’ve been SLOOOOOOOOWLY developing a pitch for Modest Medusa, and I hope to eventually bring it to an animation company or try to finance a pilot on my own. Thats my hope. I’m so busy though. It seems like I never have any free time to work on that.
A Modest Medusa children’s cartoon?
I’m kinda worried you’d lose the core audience when you have to make it more kid-friendly, but it doesn’t hurt to try!
I don’t know. I modeled MM on the idea that I might be able to make a show out of it at some point, and I don’t think there’s much in the comic that couldn’t be on TV. Adventure Time (for example) has done severed limbs, parents devouring children and character deaths.
OMG those tiny pi-rats look so cute!
I want one!
Hell I want six!
Okay didn’t expect that, well played 🙂
Mini-pirates are so cute ! ^_^
Ya know, she’s technically right.
Not… really sure how this helps the situation, though. Pretty sure the mermaid would have no moral qualms with taking Raccoon out. But I guess we’ll see Wednesday! ;3
Yeah, sounds about right for a pirate. Where do we set sail to Captain?
Wait wat
Oh boy. Nice crew … er, not-Modest!
Well, she’s not wrong. But I seriously doubt Red is going to let herself get close enough to let Racoon’s snakes bite her.
I’m guessing it was Cpt. Jaspar that took the “Eureka!” spill in the last panel.
I’m surprise no one noticed or commented on how one of the snakes is licking one of the Carlos right now. Mmmmmm tastes like pi rat!
I think that’s rat tail, not snake tongue, in that panel.
It is. But I’m adding that detail to the panel I’m drawing right now.
“I’m the captain now, so uh… I’ll make you first mate for NOT killing the rats and maybe turning them back sound fair?”
Hey Jake I read Modest Medusa. It’s pretty good. And I heard the comments section of you talking to animator colleagues about making a Modest Medusa show. I support that and I just wanted to offer the suggestion that there are other ways to get it as a show than cartoon network. There are other production companies such as Rooster Teeth, who make Red vs Blue and RWBY which I am big fans of, and probably some other ones that I don’t know about that have the capacity to make a Modest Medusa tv series. I would probably recommend Rooster Teeth on the grounds that like you they started as independent artists when they first made Red vs Blue so they would relate to your situation more than a big corporation. So there’s my suggestion thanks for listening and good luck with Modest Medusa Jake.
Thanks for the thoughts. The chances of getting a show on Cartoon Network seem like a real longshot to me, so working with a smaller company or doing the project myself seem a lot more viable. That said, I know almost nothing about the animation and cartoon industry. I’m trying to invest some time in learning so I can figure out how to move forward, but… time just isn’t something I have a lot of!
