Thank you all for the birthday good wishes. I appreciate it. I spent the day in the studio working on something else that wasn’t a Medusa strip. I had taken a few days off before that, which helped a lot. As some of you know, my brother Nick and I have been working on the new Yeld book non stop for about the last 9 months. Working 14-16 hours a day, 7 days a week had really caught up to me (I was only actually managing 11-12 hours a day in the last 2 weeks). I really needed rest. I plan to take a longer break next month, but just taking a few days off last week was nice.
I have to admit, I did not expect a Toothfacer to bleed…
Holy… Jake, have some mercy on yourself! Don’t work that much, rest properly! The new book won’t go anywhere, there’s nothing wrong with making it at a more humane pace!
Those “bugs” look big enough to bleed visibly.
I love the last panel. You can tell that she’s telling Marah to leave because it’s necessary, not out of any malice or ill will.
Softening the blow of kicking Marah out by hugging her and showing that she still cares is exactly how I’d expect someone like Tilly to handle the situation.
Don’t forget your glasses Marah- oh, wait
When I was reminding her to take the sword, I didn’t expected SHE will remind it to her as well.
14-16 hours a day, 7 days a week? That’s crazy. You need to rest more.
I’ve been in this situation before. You really nailed the feelings on both sides
Also as who overworks themselves on the reg and then crashes for like a week good luck getting a break and a healthy schedule 🍻
Im trying. My goal is to slip back to a 6 day week this summer.
Heh, yeah, six days a week is basically a normal shift now.
Uh huh. Its funny (not actually funny at all). I’ve been working 6-7 days a week, 10+ hours a day for years. Thats how I like it. But I USED to tell people that and they’d say “oh no! How can you work so much!?” These days, it seems like that’s how it is for most people I know. A full time job plus a side hustle. Or 2 or 3 part time jobs. Seems like no one gets to rest anymore. I feel lucky that I at least like my job.
To work well, you need to get enough sleep.
(I have a book about sleep deprivation,
but I am too tired to find it.)
Regards.
Yeah, you’re 100% right. I’ve overdone it the last several months. I LIKE working a lot, but this was clearly too much.
