– The Portland Zine Symposium was a lot of fun! plenty of weird stuff, cool comics and zines and lots of friends I don’t get to see very often. I’m actually looking forward to next year!
I’m really hoping that Modest’s snakes won’t turn out all that evil. In the Wither Away strips, it seems that merely being in Yeld can turn someone into a monster. The horse, before he became a horse, started to transform into something before he made any contact with the Prince. Yeld evidently acts much slower than the Prince or his castle, since Yeld does it over a matter of years, while the castle works over a matter of hours, and the Prince does it instantaneously.
Anyway, my hope is that the evil-mindedness of the snakes is a result of growing up in Yeld. If this is the case, then perhaps Modest will avoid that fate by growing up in our world, with Jake.
Well it makes sense that she is probably the one who most likely knows how to stop or reverse them changing. But what can Jake offer her in return? Maybe a chocodile…my god that would be funny, Giant momdusa chowing down on some chocodiles.
..I am confused, why does he think they need to meet Momdusa? Is he planning on giving the giant snake that could swallow him whole a lecture on what a crappy parent she is? Or maybe he has been magically brainwashed?
WOW…those snakes look like they had a heart/panic attack.
To Jake I say WTF?
I mean you want to got to the snake b***h who eats her own children, captured you, and is partners with the vampire king…before you escape.
May I ask if Jake is under mind control?
I love the snakes’ expressions in the last panel.
LOLWHUT ? 0_o
Hehe, don’t know who look more shocked, the snake heads or Medusa’s main head.
This is such a great idea…..
So long as Chainsaw Unicorn is there, friendship will be magic. Or tragic.
Chainsaw Unicorn is magic <3
Marah’s arm seems bulkier than normal, even with the armour.
If you’re going to tell them that you are leaving then you can’t call it an escape.
Oh yeah . . .
This may not turn out so well.
Shocked snakes. Dang.

Very interesting…
I like that idea!
Modest should stay modest with Jake in the human world. 🙂
Hmmm, Jake doesn’t know that her name is “Modest” at this point, does he?
So why does he have to see mommy Medusa?

Isn’t Medusa’s Mom the one who grabbed Jake in the 1st place? Why would he want to go see her before leaving? Won’t she stop Jake from taking Modest?
I keep wondering what kind of monster Jake will turn into.
I hope it involves a claw, or an eye patch! Wait… between Charles and the ferret pirate, those ideas may already be done.

Jake… does not fully grasp the situation, does he?
Yeah, no. Momdusa murders her own children. She doesn’t get the privilege of a “goodbye.”
