– Hey guys. Some of you may know that I teach a comic and illustration class for teens. I’ve been doing this for a few years. This year my class has decided to organize a small comics festival. It’s called Fanaticon and it’ll be on Sat, Feb 13th at the East Portland Community Center. I’m helping out, but really it’s teh kids that are running teh whole thing, and they’re doing a great job! We have about 30 different artists, comic creators, crafters and student artists tabling at the show, so there should be plenty of neat stuff to check out. I’ll be there with the new Medusa book and Lilineko (the crafter who makes my Medusa hats, pillows and other stuff) will be there as well. Admission is free too. So if you live in the Portland area please come by and check the show out. We’re hoping that Fanaticon can grow into a yearly event!
Actually, I think he told Dragul that Modest returning would be a decision she should make when she was old enough.
As for mermaids being honest and pure:
There was a magic portal that led to a different land (honest), they failed to mention that a lake monster might eat you if you look for it (not so pure)
Jen and Deb never did claim to be Modest’s friends (honest), they sort of told her that nobody else was her friend (not so pure)
Jen tried to warn Marah that attacking the castle was dangerous (honest)
She told Modest that only snake girls could find the portal (dishonest)
Yeah, it’s not clear how Jen heard about what went down in the Prince’s throne room. It’s second hand info at best.
At this point I’m guessing He must be thinking what’s the best way to cook a mermaid.
Pure and honest in what way?
They are pure to themselves and honest to themselves. They may have, at the time, believed that only the snakes could find the portal.
As for purity, pure compared to what? Moral Guidelines? Their own needs? I doubt these mermaids have tried to be anything other than themselves.
Yeah, pure crap!
…
But she’s got a point. Jake left out information. Maybe he was still in denial, and reeling from Marah’s death.
Yeah, pure and honest as a two by four to the face. *rolleyes*
That is pure and honest, so long as you were told it’s coming. It wouldn’t be though if someone told you they were going to hit you in the face with a 2×4 and purposefully failed to mention the rusty nail they put in there.
honest & puremaids
This looks like the start of a beautiful friendship.
I feel like these two could be super friends!
Is it too soon for me to ship these two?
I was going to say something about wedding bells or something like that.
Oh, totally not too soon. Almost too late. 😉
She is sooo flirting with Jake last two pages. And drowning him earlier could be counted as flirting too, she is Mermaid after all.
I ship it.
Is assassins usuallies known for beings honest an’ pure? >@.@<
