Late again! A lot if going on this week, which is good. But one bad thing is I’ve been having vertigo attacks that have left me just completely debilitated. I’ve never had vertigo before and its really unpleasant. I seem to be getting over it today, so I’m hoping that I can be back to work this weekend. But no strip today! Instead here’s very vertigo flavored “Late again!!?” Medusa. I can’t remember who did this one.
I know things can be hectic, and you simply can’t be in control of your schedule all the time. I can empathize with the vertigo being practically incapacitating (I used to get REALLY bad migraines), but I can’t help feeling like the sites promise of 3 uploads a week (M W & F) is not only false advertising, but promises something that you simply cannot deliver no matter how hard you try, setting an unachievable goal for yourself. 🙁 I mean, you often have trouble with just 2 pages a week. Isn’t it time to change the site’s layout to reflect your ability rather that what you hope to accomplish?
You’re not wrong.
I’ve been at 2 pages a week for a few years now, and the reason I haven’t changed the site’s layout to reflect that is because I can’t. Several years ago I migrated the site to a new host. The process was messy, and the host changed some backend stuff that locked me out of being able to make any changes at all to the site. That doesn’t mean that changes CAN’T be made, of course. But it does mean that the interface I had for making changes no longer exists, and I don’t have the knowealge to overcome that. I’ve had some helpful friends and readers look at the back end for me and they’ve each suggested that I should re-migrate to a different host and pay someone to basically put my site back together again so I’m able to make changes again. Unfortunately I just haven’t had the time or resources to do that. Its always on my list, but its never at the top.
But…
I hope to have a little time and money to work on this before the end of the year. I would very much like to finally get it resolved. Its been a source of anxiety and frustration for a few years.
Oof, vertigo, that’s always fun. Try getting your ears checked if you haven’t. Otherwise, do what I do
“Enjoy* the ride =S
