So that’s what the eyes and tongue part of the collective look like, they’re all part of a single head organism, but assuming this is cannon, where do the bugs come from? I’ve been curious about their biology, or ecology, or whatever word I’m looking for.
I haven’t decided if this is cannon or not. The Yeld rulebook describes toothfacers as magically created creatures filled with bugs that compulsively gather teeth.
As a general rule, guest comics probably shouldn’t be considered canon, unless they are written by the creator. Modest Medusa is auteurship, not corporate comics.
I often have nightmares where I wake up in bed and I can feel my teeth have fallen out. I’ve been told (by my dentist) that this kind of dream is associated with financial insecurity.
What Pratchett said about elves applies to all “fair folk”:
“Elves are wonderful. They provoke wonder.
Elves are marvellous. They cause marvels.
Elves are fantastic. They create fantasies.
Elves are glamorous. They project glamour.
Elves are enchanting. They weave enchantment.
Elves are terrific. They beget terror.
The thing about words is that meanings can twist just like a snake, and if you want to find snakes look for them behind words that have changed their meaning.
No one ever said elves are nice.
Elves are bad.”
Oh, hello Mr. Nightmare Fuel. Come to wish me unpleasant dreams? Thaaanks…
Aaand, again. Nyeeaaagh…
Granted, this one creeps me out a little less than the last one. But uh, yeah. Your friend has a gift. And, that gift is being weird.
I really like the last speech bubble! 😀
I started reading horror stories recently. A story around SCP-3125 for example. 😀
I had forgotten about SCP until recently.

Ehh. I like these ideas.
I wonder where the common “teeth falling out” dream comes from.
I don’t have that one, but I do have close relatives, “mouth endlessly full of gravel” and “mouth full of some weird plastic-like substance”

I dunno, doesn’t much look like the tooth fairy to me…
I dunno, that doesn’t really look like the tooth fairy to me:
…and suddenly i´m reminded of the ‘tooth fairies’ in hellboy 2 – vicious flying piranhas, only thing left over from their victims are the teeth.

I love this insight into a toothfacer’s ecology
I do too. This may become canon.
It’s a puffle!
