– I’m putting up some original art auctions this month to raise generate some money for some Medusa related expenses. The first one is this Modest Medusa Bee & Puppycat illustration I did a few months ago. It’s blue pencil, pen and Copic marker on 9×12 bristol board. I think it turned out pretty nice. You can bid on it here. I’ll have another illustration for auction next week.
– I’ve been posting more Korra fan comics this week. Check them out!

O_O uhh Modest don’t force people to like your snack, that means less for you.
So peanutbutter, banana and bacon is the teacher’s favourite, but she doesn’t like chocolate covered cake. This doesn’t bode well for the education of America’s youth.
Has anyone thought of using Budsies to get Plush versions of the characters?
Oh my gosh! I want a plush Modest!! (ノ^ヮ^)ノ*:・゚✧
oh, neat. At one point I was talking to a company about plush Medusas, but it fell through. I’d still like to do it.
According to their website the “Online Price is Only $69”
…$69….thats a bit..Pricy…
Custom stuff is always expensive. Consider the amount of time something like that takes. We’re not just talking about assembly and pattern cutting (which by itself is time consuming) but pattern creating and design as well. Taking a 2 dimensional design and turning into a 3 dimensional object isn’t always easy. Plus there’s material costs. The last person I talked to about it quoted me $200 for the initial prototype and $50 for each unit. I thought that was a pretty good price and the only reason I didn’t do a kickstarter was because they could only really produce 2-5 units a week. That’s the problem with this kind of thing. It pays enough to make a living, but only if you’re working 40-60 hours a week doing it. And even then it doesn’t pay that much. It’s the same for me. I love what I do and I work 70+ hours a week, but I made more money in college working 20 hours a week selling pokemon cards.
They’re actually bonding. That’s really sweet ♡
Also, Jake, I’m impressed with your writing skill. You took a character that everyone hated two pages ago, and nobody expected to ever like, and made her likeable almost instantly. That’s impressive!
Well… we’re not there yet. The fact of the matter is that she’s not a super likable person. But who is? I think it’s easy to forget that Modest is a really difficult and Jake isn’t so great either. No one is perfect.
Now, as you mention. The only notable person in the comic you can commend in the behavior department is Charles. He didn’t receive the toilet flood well, but he is very civil of the fact he lost an arm to a monster who came after the Medusa who lived in his house. He understands there are circumstances and doesn’t try to blame anyone – I’m rather impressed by the mental power he shows there.
Charles is a saint. In real life too.
<3
She should have been cleverer than that.
Ms. Booth: Suppose I told you that I do like Chocodiles… but I want you to have them all anyway?
Modest: Yaaaay! You’re so nice!
Problems solved!
Modest: Ms. Booth is really nice, now, Jake! She told me that I should have all the Chocodiles! You should make her an extra fancy sandwich for tomorrow! And marry her as well! Here, I did a drawing! That’s you, and her, and the fancy sandwich with a heart on between you, and the pile of all the Chocodiles, and it’s all on a ship, with me as captain, ‘cos I’m shipping you now!
Or would this just introduce new problems…? >:=)>
OMG.
… and a sheep, because no picture is complete without a sheep.
If anyone’s interested, the New Jersey street Marsh in Indianapolis, IN, is now selling Chocodiles.
We should have a national Chocodile database.
So she abuses power, picks on students, causes a child to have a near emotional breakdown, steals from children… and now rude.
…I hate this character with every fiber of my being and want her to die a slow, painful death.
Well that escalated quickly.
not quickly enough actually
That seems disproportionate.
