Okay, so I’m working on a Modest Medusa coloring book. It’s an A-Z theme, with each letter represented by something from the comic. So M is for Medusa, and P is for Pirates and so on. I need a Q. I just can’t think of a good one. Already suggested: Quest Medus and Marah are on a quest), Queen Snake (but Medusa’s Mom isn’t a Queen), Quit (Marah won’t Quit until she rescues her uncle), Que (the Pokemon line). None of these seem that great. Any ideas? I already have the rest of the letters figured out.

Ehh. Good effort though.
Q is for Quarry – seems like everyone’s being chased by someone else (Medusa by her mom, Jake now by the castle-dwellers). Q for Question, maybe? or Quarrel – Jake and Medusa are constantly arguing in the first book. Or it could be for the Quantity of sheep that they just made (or the quantity of chocodiles that Medusa eats).
And I really hope that O is for Ophidian!

What about “quagmire”? Surely there are bogs in Modest’s native world.
“Quarrel” might work too, since Jake and Modest seem at odds with one another sometimes. There’s also the obvious “quest”, which is what the gang is involved in right now!
Awesome comic, by the way. Really digging it.
You could just have it be some inside joke thing. A page with Q, and a picture of Medusa looking confused as she tries to think of something for the letter Q.
That’s probably the best idea.
Just to make it funnier, she could be thinking, “What rhymes with Q?”

It’s just like Odysseus and his crew fleeing from the cyclops. Except that instead of Jake calling himself Noman, he called himself Batman.
I love the Odyssey. I love Batman. This comic freaking rocks.

Q Division – You’ve had Batman references it’s time for some James Bond references. Plus it will let you write some deadly gadgets into the strip.

Medusa loves her pokemon, so maybe Quilava or Quagsire. And of course, if Medusa says something about one of them, surely one of her sisters will pop up to say, “My name is…”

Also, I second Avisia’s Quagsire suggestion. Quagsire is a blue water/ground-type just like Medusa.
People have said “question” but have they suggested Jake and Modest asking the reader or colorerororer or whatever what the letter Q should be?

I always come up with the silly ideas before getting to actual ones. Sheep and “quadruped”. Or “quick” if they’re fast.
“Queasy” and have Modest’s hair vomiting? Okay maybe not.
Okay how about “quality” and then be ironic with having a really bad drawing?
I’m literally just going down the list of words on Wiktionary and it is HURTING MY BRAIN BECAUSE THE LOWERCASE q IS STARTING TO LOOK REALLY WEIRD
I think I went on too long but one more, “quip” and then make use of one of the many puns that have been given here.
Queasy and Quadruped are both good.
Also if you’ve got all the other letters figured out, what’s X? X-Ray or Xylophone, I am pretty sure there are no other letters that begin with X, I am pretty sure, any others are actually Chinese words.

Quirky, which there is plenty of things around that are quirky
Quizical, as in perplexed- which everyone was at first when a medusa suddenly showed up
Quarrel, there’s been several arguments
Quiche, which perhaps Charles may have cooked at some point
Quarter, which could include things like Quarterhorse, quarterstaff or Quartermaster
Quadruple Amputee, which is what might happen if that Knight shows up again.
Hopefully this offers a few ideas to consider.
Quibbling, as in trivial bickering. That little picking at one another that makes up some of the background commentary. The picture could be some of the characters quibbling over whether ‘quibble’ is even a word. And yes, I’d love a Medusa sister declaring that her name was Quibble.
Quip-
Just write a witty joke. Or write a few jokes trying to teach the meaning of a quip. Modest isn’t from this world so it should be easy to write something where she learns what a quip is and how to carry it off effectively. Other “q” words, quixotic, querulous, quince, quill, quandary, and if you’re really struggling, you can always make a joke about misspelling a word to begin with a “q”.
If “eqqplant” only began with a Q the problem would be solved.
Quandary: the result of prolonged exposure to the title character.
