As one of my friends pointed out, any Movie with an even remotely similar target audience moved away from Star Wars VII release. Because they knew they could not compete with that siren call.
I am going to see it Saturday.
And I can totally understand that you did not manage to do a strip that day.
You would have needed to be the child of prophecy to get anything done on that day. And we all know how those tend to end up so be happy you were not one 🙂
I found the story a bit predictable. It was a bit overshadowed by the fact we knew it was the start of a trillogy so the mains could not die. Yet.
Still they managed to get some surprises in and the trailers spoiled almost nothing.
It did raise a whole lot of questions, some of wich maybe should have been answered beforehand/in supplemental material. Maybe it was in some cut scenes. Or maybe it will be explaned in the 2nd part.
Like Jurassic World it is the worthy start of a new trillogy.
I’ll pass on the movie in the movies. These days, the three hour long ones are too much for my bladder and bowels to take; I missed about fifteen minutes of the last “Hobbit” that way. Why can’t they put an intermission in something that long?
I don’t know how long this is—but even a ninety-minute movie seems a bit much to me these days. I’ll wait for it to come out on video, and can watch it where I control the remote and I can press pause.
I will take the filler comi comment time to discuss past comics.
Ms. Booth – I think most people’s “problem” with Ms. Booth comes from a couple of sources. 1 – Modest is the main character and we were introduced to Ms. Booth from her point of view, so we tended to empathize with Modest. 2 – We didn’t know that Jake promised to send her lunch, so we thought she was a big jerk (in the same way that Modest’s mom is a big snake). I really have no problem with Ms. Booth but will probably continue to take Modest’s side in their future interactions (at least until Modest does something so completely bratty that she loses my sympathy).
Jenny – When the Season 3 book came out and those of us who supported it got to see the Mermaid Introspection additional strips, I started to feel sorry for Jenny (and Deb for that matter). Now she comes to our world and seems to be back to her old ways. I accept this. Realizing that you’ve been a bad person in the past doesn’t bring about instant change. I believe that she is trying to reform and is just keeps falling back on old habits – until she actually tries killing anyone she has my support.
Jenny is a bit reformed… but she still a monster from Yeld. She’s gone from being an awful person to being merely unpleasant. In the next few strips we’ll start to see more of what she’s about now. This recap is taking abit longer than I thought it would.
Spoilers! Or not, I don’t know. I haven’t watched the movie yet.
So, I get that it doesn’t reveal more than the trailer but what about people that haven’t seen the trailer and don’t want to see it before seeing the actual movie? If you didn’t have the T-Fighters in it they wouldn’t have known that it’s about Star Wars.
On the other hand, nobody actually complained yet (I’m not complaining, I saw the trailer), I just wanted to point out that maybe someone could complain. 🙂
At first I thought this seemed kind of petty (in the movie) and then realized the pragmatism behind it: When your primary weapon is a big staff, having one of your hands occupied is a bad idea.
Yes. I also think she just didn’t like being yanked around by someone she didn’t know and didn’t trust, especially in a confusing and frightening situation.
Yeah I saw it yesterday for the 7:15 IMAX 3D. OMG my brain was going to explode the movie was so good, I was so excited when I got home I couldn’t sleep. So I am hella exhausted this morning. My friends and I decided to see it again. So much awesome inside that movie!!!
This comic is so hilariously accurate. You gotta do one showing that one guy having tantrums, that was hilarious!!! XD

Okay, now I watched it. Won’t spoil anything.

Ehh. This scene was heavily featured in multiple trailers so I figure it’s fair game.

That was fast 🙂

I had the same experience. Came into the studio after seeing the movie, couldn’t focus to get any work done.
Dr. Who? =P

I don’t really care for Star Wars, but how was it for you?
I really liked it.
Coming back and seeing this after the movie makes it funnier!
They made a new Star Wars movie? How come no one told me? You would have thought they would have made a big deal about it in the media or something….
