Computer graphics were just about to really take off, though. TRON came out only a year later. Granted, early CGI movies have mostly not aged well, and even modern movies that use them poorly still fall flat.
I know but most sites post it so only the poster can see and puts above it “awaiting approval”, atleast it did on the older comics of yours I commented on
This is what I do when I’m not making guest comics for Jake. (That link above might not be working.) http://jumbodeluxe.com/ Thanks for the kind words, all of you!
I loved the original. The scenes in Medusa’s lair were very atmospheric. And graphic with the beheading. And a little female nudity that fit the Grecian motif.
The new version was sufficiently different. But they didn’t do much in the of any improvements except for the scorpions. And the effect of the “Kraken” (should have been called “Cetus”) coming out of the water was a Cthulhu rising moment. Or as close as we will ever get so far.
Aw! Poor Modest!
Harry Hausen forever!
just checking in
I rather like the artistry. And the joke was simple and clean (resist…. kingdom.. hearts… joke). Very amusing, can’t wait to see more chaos from you!
….. SIMPLE AND CLEAN IS THE WAY THAT YOU’RE MAKING ME FEEEEL TONIGHT!! Dammit sorry!
Hey, 1981 *did* have computers! It’s just that at the time their graphical power was limited to text, for the most part…
Well, you could draw some simple geometric shapes in 2D, but only if you knew a programming language well enough to type it all in…

I actually feel bad for her.

She will bite everyone and turn them to stone!
Watch your back Jake!!!!
Is anyone else getting a 404 error for the jumbodeluxe link?

Whew I finally caught up, I have been reading this for hours. Good bye now, I am going to bed.
(Sorry if this is a double post the first one didn’t show up at all)
Yeah, I manually approve all the comments to keep spam out, but I’ve been traveling the last two day, so I haven’t had a chance.

My spam filter is currently messed up, and it’s treating everything like spam.
Ah, ok, that makes sense
Who’s the idiot that thought taking a medusa to a movie where her kind got sliced up was a good idea?
I don’t know what I like more — that she’s feeding one of the snakes popcorn, or the snakes’ look of horror!
Last non-guest strip was a month ago…I almost quit coming here. I see you said this is the last fill in comic…I hope that’s true!
