The story contained just in panel two is amazing. A loving and concerned mother who gives her daughter pretty much free rein while teaching her to make good decisions and preparing her for the time when she won’t be there.

I like how jumping out of the window seems to be a recurring thing from Ekans
Even Modest’s hair in the last panel is all, “What the heck are you doing!?” XD
So, Meg has a past history of jumping out the window. Modest won’t be blamed for this one.

Y’know, without the context provided by the word bubbles, it almost looks like Jake’s pushing Modest out the window.
Until I read the word bubbles, I thought that was what was happening.
I just imagined Jake saying “Nooope!” just like Lana Kane in “Archer.” haha

Ha! Modest and Meg are really kindred spirits. If Yeld and Earth had a parallel universe thing going on, they could be each other’s counterparts.
