If ants were as big as bees then they’d be easier to keep off of you.
Momdusa has a sister!? Does she eat her babies, too? Ew.
And it’s not wrong to want to do good things to feel good about yourself, but Jen? You’re a kidnapper. You literally haven’t changed, not even a little bit! You’re just as awful as you were before 😛
“I promised I’d bring you back if you weren’t finding your way in the other world.”
How is that anywhere near her “I will drown you because I am a mermaid and you are in water”?
Sorry, but I fail to see how she is not a totally different person.
I didn’t say that. Do you know how quotation marks work?
I realize I shouldn’t expect you to know how to use quotation marks. Here’s a proper example of how to use quotation marks:
“Sorry, but I fail to see how she is not a totally different person.”
Note that I copied and pasted exactly what you had typed before.
But she hasn’t changed because her primary goal has been to kidnap Modest. If you are referring to the time she attempted to murder Marah, that wasn’t her immediate goal. She tried to kill Marah because she was preventing her from committing a kidnapping.
Now she’s learned not to get into direct, violent confrontations with Jake’s family, so she convinced Modest to go with her back to Yeld. This is still kidnapping, though, as she coerced a minor to run away with her.
Same crime, but different methods. Rather than use a net, she preyed on Modest’s insecurities.
She has great potential to be a public school teacher!
Her aunt could be from her dad’s side of the family. Just as troubling as the momdusa sister theory.
Ooh, possibly as scary, but yet to be determined. Momdusa cannibalized her young, but Prince didn’t seem to have any interest in murdering Modest. Rather, it appeared that he wanted to use her for some sort of political gain. (This is speculation.)
Or maybe it’s the prince’s sister
I guess the medusae start out with lots of sisters, so.. it’s statistically the most likely to be her..
If it’s another giant gorgon, then Modest is in trouble. Though I have to say, that would be one hell of a takeout order!
So… The people of Yeld speak with American accents? Because that’s the only way “aunt” could sound anything like “ant”.
Now I’m going to have to re-think the voices I imagine the characters speaking in. Does everyone in Yeld have American accents? Or just the mermaids?
Honestly, I never think of any of the characters as even having a voice. I’ve been trying to lately for the sake of animation, but I just can’t hear anything at all.
Well, they inexplicably all speak English, it’s not anymore of a stretch that they speak in American accents.
Is the aunt on her mother’s side or her father’s side?
Huh, that was a surprise. Though, considering how a huge litter seems to be natural for the hydra species, it really shouldn’t have been. In fact, the real surprise should be the singular — does Gorgon have only the one (surviving) sister? (Maybe most younglings tend to die of sheer stupidity.)
Is this a thing?
I mean, english is not my mother language, so some pronunciations might be hard to grasp, like I know “aunt” have the same sound as “ant”, but I usually say “awnt” with “aw” from “awww that’s cute”. Is that weird? :p
It’s a pretty common joke in English. It turns up in children’s shows a lot.
It’s regional. I grew up in a part of the USA where “aunt” is /awnt/, and was puzzled when I first heard it as /ænt/ (making it a homonym for “ant”), and then surprised when I found that my accent seems to be the minority one in this country.
It’s Kate. Back a few years ago Jake did tell someone that Modest was his daughter, so that makes Kate her aunt.
The whole bit about her being back in Portland is just one giant typo – ignore it.
Jake, I think you forgot to update the duck again 🙂
Oh! I think I must have accidentally closed the page on my browser. Usually I keep all the sites I update on open as a reminder,
And this is why most of the people who speak english pronounce that word Aurnt. It’s only america that things that ant is how you say it.
With no family to speak of (except for sisters, and Jake),
I think it doesn’t help the situation that “Aunt” is an
unfamilar word as well as an unfamilar concept for Medusa .
