Modest, it’s weird enough just TALKING to you. But I am proud that you have the self-awareness to acknowledge that your head is a Surrealist nightmare.
It’s good to know yourself well enough to know when a mindtrip is gonna get weird…
I mean, it’s not like it takes that much introspective to know that much.
Did Xbox have to go through that alone, though?
She did.
Basically, imagine the scene from The Empire Strikes Back, with Luke in the tree with Darth Vader.
Except with more sneks.
I should have used that as an example.
Um… I never watched Star Wars?
Its pretty good, if you’re into that kind of thing.
👍🏻👌🏻

She probably only thinks that because every example of this trope she’s seen is full of weird stuff.
On the other hand her head is full of said knowledge from tv and games, so it’s a good possibility that it’d be weird from their standpoint anyway.
Crazy people never think they’re crazy, so Modest admitting it’ll get weird is a good thing.
“If you think you’re crazy, you’re not. If you think everybody else is crazy, you are.”
What if I think both?
Yep, weirder than talking snakes, tons of little medusae, magic, and traveling via toilets.
I think we’re way past that already.
Panel four is something I find myself telling my bosses and co-workers pretty regularly.
*SvtfoE theme intensifies*
Make sure to bring some bleach, Xbox… it’s gonna get weird.
No bleach is gonna save her.
Modest is not yet aware that it’s weird in EVERYBODY’s head.
*modest says it’s going to be weird*

Modest’s mindscape looks like a classroom, and she finds herself talking about what she did on her trip back to Yeld…
Ha.
Modest is one of us.
I really need those last two panels as a t-shirt!
