What a second… Auntie Naga isn’t an oracle is she? I thought they had humanoid bodies versus looking like giant snakes.
You’re correct, Auntie Naga isn’t an Oracle, and most Oracles were Hydra who didn’t change into giant snakes. There were exceptions though, and even adult Hydra that weren’t Oracles were considered holy and powerful. Oracle worship is ancient and mostly forgotten in Yeld, and over time the specifics have kind of been forgotten and conflated. If you remember back to season 4 the Toothfacer Modest meets describes a Serpent oracle as a big magic snake.
Anyway, it’s probably more confusing than it needs to be. For most people who remember them at all Hydra and Serpent Oracles are the same thing.

Hmm… If the new abolisher wants to go back to times where hydras/oracles were worshiped then this might not be a bad thing for our little medusas.
