Happy Monday, everyone! Here’s Modest as Speed Racer. Did you know its the 20th anniversary of the live action Speed Racer movie? Which I love. Its actually playing again in theaters across the US this week (accept anywhere near me). Go see it if you can!
I’ve often thought that the Speed Racer movie would have done better if it hadn’t been released two weeks after Iron Man and two weeks before Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Between them, they sucked all the air out of the room.
I didn’t even remember that it came out in the same year!
I do remember it was very poorly received. Critics hated it, and people just weren’t going to see it. I took Marah to see it 3 times that summer, and she saw it at least one more time with my brother.
