Thanks for your patience. I’m back.
As you may know, I was off for a few weeks to attend Gencon in Indianapolis. My brother Nick and I drove across the country for Portland to exhibit our game The Magical Land of Yeld, and then drove back. The plan was to make several stops on the way back so the return trip could be an mini vacation. That didn’t really work out. We did have a very good time at the show, and I’m happy to say that our game was really well received. It was a successful event for us. I also got to meet several of you for the first time, which was a real highlight for me. It was especially nice to hear that so many of you are actually enjoying the current Marah focused season. That’s something I always worry about.
On the downside, the trip was exhausting both ways, and the show itself was a real grind. We arrived in Indianapolis totally out of steam, did the 5 days how on zero energy, and then spent a week limping home in 100+ degree weather with no AC in the car. A real nightmare. I was really hoping to come back from this trip rested and refreshed, but I’m honestly more exhausted and burned out than before we left.
I’ve spent the last few days trying to recover from teh trip. I’m not there yet. Last night and today I was lightheaded and woozy. I’m feeling a little better this evening, but that’s the reason I’m posting this strip late. I plan to take tomorrow off, and hopefully I’ll feel better as I’m working on Sunday to finish the Monday strip.
Anyway, thank you all for your patience. Lets get this season wrapped up!
“You are too much of a coward to kill me” said the man about to be killed.
“She’s been trying to kill you, moron!”
I did not expect that, and neither did they it seems.
Just take your time, we can wait a bit longer.
At least ONE of them has sense, it seems
“What are you gonna do, shoot me?”
DON’T TEMPT THE PERSON WITH A SWORD THAT CAN KILL YOU!
Angering a person with a weapon is a great way to make them act impulsively and do something they will later regret.
Yeah, that’s the correct response to a Villain Monologue; I’m just a little bit surprised at the source of that response.
Welcome back! But please do take care of yourself. We can wait longer if you need more time.
Looks like Cbar has something to say… with a boot to the head.
Dude, please chill out and take care of yourself. I’ve driven coast to coast over a dozen times. Having no AC is tough. My AC died in 100+ temp while towing my dune buggy behind my Dodge Camper heading for Las Vegas Nevada going uphill. My African Grey parrot, Buddy, was panting with his wings spread out trying to beat the heat.
Yeld game? Yeld game! How have I missed this? Board or computer game? Inquiring minds want to know.
I don’t know if I can chill out. I keep trying.
There’s been a Yeld game since 2019! Its a TTRPG (like D&D, Vampire or Traveler). We released our 2nd Edition last year. You can find out more here:

I’m sure EVERYONE here would rather you give us a Medusa costume or a quick B/W outline sketch of her at the show or ask us to send you fan art to post. We don’t want you to burn out or push yourself when you are exhausted!
I appreciate that. I really do.
And I would love more fan art. Its been a few years since I had any, and I’d love to share more.
Its not just an obligation I feel to all of you though. And I DO feel an obligation. But to myself as well. When I’m on time and the comic is going well, I feel good. I feel good about my life and myself and my work. When the comic late and dragging and aimless I feel bad about myself. like my life is a mess and getting to where I want to be is an insurmountable climb. How I fix that feeling is getting back on track with teh comic. So in that way the comic is a very precise measure of my life and mental space. For better or worse. IDK if thats healthy, but its been my life for nearly 15 years now and it works. At least sometimes.
Right now things feel a little out of control and as a result I’m absolutely exhausted and burned out. But!!! I’m hoping that with out of town conventions over this month (theres one more in Bellevue WA next weekend), the season of MM coming to a close and major Yeld work also done for the year I’ll be able to take it relatively easy for the rest of the year. Get things back on track, and go into next year with no plan to overextend.
We’ll see.
‘You’re chatting with your girlfriend AND OUR QUARRY IS GETTING AWAY’
Nah, the horse guy fainted when Marah extracted the weapon…
Yeah, he’s laying on the ground there somewhere. i really should have done a big establishing shot.
Ah! That’s a likely reason.
I was thinking Cbar was going to tell him to run away & stop tempting her to kill them both, which she clearly can. At least “mess them up” real bad.
Or: She IS going to kill you if you give her the smallest reason to, so shut up!
Hasn’t she already tried (and temporarily succeeded) to kill both of them?
I think he’s rationalizing a bit.
