– Awhile back the webcomic site Drunk Duck ran a Indiegogo campaign to raise money to spruce up their sight. Since Modest Medusa got it’s start on Drunk Duck (and still updates there) I was happy to help out by offering a guest appearance in the comic for auction. The winner was a nice woman who I won’t name here, who decided that instead of appearing In Modest Medusa herself she’d like to see her character show up in the comic. So here’s the character, a new pirate Mermaid named Red! I made some changes to accommodate the story (Red wasn’t a mermaid and didn’t have green skin), but hopefully thats okay!
– The new Pirates of Yeld shirt will be available for just about 10 more days. So get it while you can! Here’s the link.
“and I’ll bringing him”
Seems this should either be “bring” or “be bringing’ depending whether it’s meant to be pirate-sounding speech.
It was supposed to be “Be bringing”, but I messed it up.
I saw what you were trying. I think it works as is.
I’m sure people will start posting that “I’ll bringing him to you myself” is a typo, but I’m going to do the opposite and just assume that that’s how she talks.
It could work.
It’s some sort of weird merman with a gun!
And Captain Jasper isn’t just a rotten rat – he’s a math rat. Never underestimate the power of math.
A Mermaid with a gun, swimming in the water.
Wouldn’t the powder get wet ?
Or is she using the gun like a club ?
Is that a mermaid or a merman?
Mermaid. I hadn’t even considered that there might be mermen. I’ll have to think about that.

Good idea. Because he has a reputation of treating his first mates well.
Uh oh, it’s on!
it was -a- Carlos?
He’s assuming it was a Carlos. The Raccoons are the ones who were sent to deal with the crew.
“Also, they stabbed like, everyone. Seemed to be having a good time.”
– “ARRRRRRR! Yer still a captain without a ship! That be MY ship!!”
– “HAR HARRRR! Possession’s nine tenths of the law – and ALL of piracy! Enjoy yerself some land-lubbin’, Crust!”

That musket’s powder, if it gets wet, is not going to work. Unless she mermaid magics it!
Thats what she’ll do. Drying stuff off is pretty much all Mermaid Magic is good for.
Sounds pretty cool, then!
I’m loving everything about this story!
