I suppose he didn’t drew a weapon, technically, that’s loophole at the same level as medieval priests were forbidden to spill blood, so they just bashed robbers with blunt weapons.
Normal Yeld Vampires are more resilient than humans, but can still be wounded in normal ways. Stabbing and shooting and fire and blunt trauma and all that. The thing with Vampires is;
1. They recover extremely quickly. A Vampire is going to heal that wound in hours or minutes, depending on how much blood they have, unless they’re blood starved for a long time.
2. Severe trauma doesn’t slow a Vampire down like it would a human. A Vampire won’t worry about so much about losing a limb or having a hole through them. As we say with Cbar wen they had a sword through their throat.
3. Vampires do feel pain, but most are good at ignoring it, and won’t be incapacitated by it.
4. Vampires have extreme stamina reserves. they won’t get tired in a fight, and injuries won’t slow them down.
So under normal circumstances a sword wound or gunshot won’t matter much to a Vampire. Extreme trauma will eventually kill them though. They can only deal with so much. Decapitation usually does the trick. Disintegration. There are special combat techniques that vampire Hunters use. there are also spells that are designed to specifically kill Vampires, as well as spells that just kills anything.
Tenzin and Cbar are probably relatively weak Vampires. They’re not very old, and haven’t had a chance to amas much power. They appear to have special training and function in some kind of military capacity, so they’re probably more dangerous in a combat sense than your average civilian Vampire. But compared to many of the Vampires who have been in Yeld’s military for hundreds of years (people like Vargas or Kerrigor) they’re probably not a deal. but that’s like being the weakest Kaiju on Monster island. Basically, Vampires are an enormous threat to everyone else, even Fairies. And they are very hard to kill. but they can be killed.
Tenzin and Cbar are special though. They come from our world, so they cannot be permanently killed (at least by normal means), and if they are killed will eventually return from the Ghost World. the same is true for Marah and people like Shin, although the Vampires have an advantage since their bodies will also recover very quickly. As we saw with Marah, it took her months to recover from the wound dealt to her by the Prince. So the siblings are kind of unique as Vampires, which is likely why teh Prince recruited them. Having some Vampires that just can’t die to hunt down your enemies is useful.
And of course there are things in Yeld that WILL permanently kill people like the siblings or Marah.
Well, I guess. You could look at it that way. You could also look at it as an endless loop of suffering until something finally does permanently kill you.
In any case, we’re talking about an absolutely tiny number of people. A few hundred, maybe, over the course of 1000 years. And most of them don’t seem to still be around, or even last that long. The Prince is the only character who isn’t a Yeld native that has lived there for a significant amount of time (that we know of). So obviously something is happening to them.
Wait, then how did he fight the vampire the first time…?
He stamped on them a bunch.
I am not sure if that is less or *more* brutal

He CAN use any other weapon, he just can’t use THE weapon – the chainsaw “horn”. And, well, they don’t have any ordinary weapons …
Horses are dangerous even when they don’t have chainsaws.
Well, that’s an annoying problem.
Oh… so that’s how it is. He should’ve explained it sooner.
Hummm, I have to admit that’s quite the “downside”.
Would a good chainsawing actually kill them? How does one kill Yeldian Vampires? 🤔

Man, being from another world is a HUGE advantage in Yeld, isn’t it?

I shudder to imagine what’s considered a “significant amount of time” if the Knight’s 100+ years don’t count.
Well, as he said, he’s only been there about 40 years.
Interesting! Thanks.
Weaknesses also make characters interesting too, not just their powers & strengths.
Is that something you thought I wasn’t aware of?
Edit: Sorry, that sounded rude. What I meant to say was, that is something I know and try to convey.
