i think you mean modeling and i have dabbled in it, what are you after exactly?
I’m not sure, really. I’ve been wanting to make some Medusa toys or figurines for awhile. I’d like to explore some 3D printing options, and I think a good place to start is by commissioning a model. I’m not ready to do that yet, but I want to start looking for an artist and trying to figure out the whole process.
To start with you need to make some good reference images, it should be easy for you, just draw your character from the front, the side and behind in a pose that keeps arms away from the body slightly, and in Modests case, with her tail and hair straight so that the length of them is easy to get right. Thanks for the info. I appreciate it. That looks like a pretty standard model sheet, which is something I never got around to doing for Medusa since the comic kind of happened by accident. That’ll be my next step, I guess! I’ll post it when I’m done.
Its best to use graph paper for this to ensure all the angles match up. If anyone remembers those Disney toys from McDonald’s happymeal–the ones where they drove cars that you pulled them backwards and it’ d go forward?–I saw the actual model sheets used for those in my art class in college a few years back
You should have about five at least (front, back, left, right, top). The graph paper will help you keep each the right size and mesh with the others.

Yes, I am decent at 3D. Mostly used Maya, but can do Blender, too, in a pinch. I also do 3D in real-life: Sculpy, clay, and I kick ass at making plush toys.
Oh, neat. If you (or anyone else) are interested in taking a stab at this, send me a link to some of your work. I’m not ready to move forward, but I’ll look over my options. I might end up commissioning a few people eventually. Or not. I really have no idea how to go about this! But right now I’m just kind of interested in looking at peoples art.

If you’re still looking for a 3D artist, I have a background in that, I’ve done Modeling mostly and have recently worked in Sculpting, not much work done but you can check out a model I created via a sculptor I did a few weeks back here: https://sketchfab.com/sslaby I do have a Modeling program though haven’t played around with it yet. My background is in Maya, 3DS, Blender, and programming in OpenGL and Yg. Warning, haven’t done much in the past 8 years… so… I’ll be a bit risty.

I can’t 3D model for crap but I have a 3D scanner. TOTALLY THE SAME THING RIGHT?
Maybe I’ll just commission a model and then everyone can print their own.

Windows 10 is supposed to have a 3D modeling software to come with it. So if nothing else you could maybe try a hand at it yourself when it’s fully released. Although you’ll also need the hololense.
I may try, but I have a feeling I’ll be better off with someone who knows what they’re doing.

My best item are shoulder dragons. They sit on your shoulder and are filled with rice, so it can be used as a hot and cold pack.
Neat! Those shoulder dragons are awesome. I’d love to have a plush Medusa. What would you charge for something like that?
It depends on how big you’d like her, but I’m thinking between $30-45.

Biggish? Whatever you think would be best. Anyway, anything less than $60 sounds like a great deal. I won’t be able to afford anything right away, but lets talk about this next month.
