– I’d like to welcome readers from Webtoon! Thanks for checking out Modest Medusa’s home. I hope you’ll leave a comment and introduce yourself to the locals. As some of you know, I decided to stop posting MM on Webtoon. Webtoon had started deleting some of my strips over absurd “nudity, graphic violence and sexual content” complaints. As much as I loved the community there, I can’t afford to support a platform that won’t support my comic.
– Here’s a rare MM strip without any of the main characters!
– BTW, K-12 means kindergarten through 12th grade, or senior year in High School. K-12 schools used to be pretty common, but now seem to be fairly rare outside of rural areas and private schools. For those of you who live outside the US, kids here start kindergarten at age 5, then move on to grade school (1st-5th grade), middle school (6th-8th grade) and high school (9th-12th grade), graduating high school at age 18. Of course, that actually varies a bit across the country, and often grade school and middle school, or middle school and high school, are housed in the same buildings. this doesn’t account for home schools or private schools either, which often do their own things.
That answers a few questions and poses a few more.
Is this Matt someone who has appeared in the comic before? Your art style changes and/or he could be in one of the guest comics. Was he depicted in and/or responsible for a guest comic?
Matt appeared in the Pokemon line way back in season 1.

Found him
So I’ve noticed that comments only show up if you go to previous strip then “next” to the latest?
Yeah. It sucks, and I don’t know how to fix it.
A K-12 school? Where was that ever a thing?
I can’t quite wrap my mind around how that would function; it would have to be a really really big school…
Not really. A lot of K-12 schools only have one classroom for each grade.
Here in Russia, 11 grades in the same school are normal, with 2 to 4 classes per year. I don’t see what’s so big about it.
I think most Americans are used to grades being divided up, often in different buildings Thats common, but less common than we think it is, but its also almost exclusively how our media portrays school.
I’ve only seen high schools that are really big.
Where I grew up, elementary and middle schools are all over the place, but there were only a few high schools for the whole county.
I think it’s done that way so you can have more specialty classes, so people can get extra learning toward a trade a real profession. If everyone is put into one class, you can only do general education.
Or just a small community.
Just came over here from Between Failures, almost did a double take like- Jake dated Reggie’s mom?! But that’s not how surnames work
So Modest is now regarded as Jake’s daughter?
Yeah. He decided that at the end of Season 4, and thats how he introduces her to people.
Wow. I’m skinnier in comics.
Yeah, in Season 1 I’m standing behind Jake and Modest with my two daughters waiting to get the new Pokemon game.
Yeah I’m from Webtoon. Kinda sucks that Webtoon keeps screwing you over man. Looking forward to what you have planned for Modest Medusa!
Thanks for coming over! I’m excited to get back to our Marah story and finish up the year in time for the big Modest Medusa 10 year anniversary in January.
Is he supposed to say “yeah” twice in the last frame?
he is. the first “yeah” is in response to her question. The second “yeah” is a pause, before he continues.
Where Megan attendeds school, our Elementary Schools were k-6, an’ our Middle Schools *an’* Junior Highs were 7-8. (Usuallies just the second kind is)
