i bet he will cut her hand off.
That’s how theses things seem to go.
That or “tink” against the arm band and break his sword…cutting himself in the process.
Don’t we have enough characters in this narrative that are missing hands? Well, okay, he’s missing the entire arm, but that does mean he is also missing the hand that should have been at the end of that arm.
Someone’s going to lose something, an eye, a hand, both? Or maybe a foot?
Accidental first blood forthcoming?
Scary.
Ahem, “I’ll even throw in some stickers!” Through is a preposition indicating travel into and out of an object. “I threw the ball through the open window.” Threw is past-tense of throw and a homonym of through, which is where this type of confusion often comes from.
Grammar teacher mode off.
Now for the story: Block, girl! Block! You have a great big spear; use it to block the sword. Unless you expect that wristband to expand to cover your whole arm all of a sudden.
I’m not seeing the grammar issue. Flip your switch back on and explain some more.
He explained most of it, but i’ll see if i can say it a different way. Through means: “moving in one side and out of the other side of (an opening, channel, or location)”, EX: The bird flew through a bunch of different hoops. The word throw has a ton of different meanings, one of which is “to propel (something) with force through the air by a movement of the arm and hand.”, and when you use it in the sentence about throwing in stickers you’re saying that you are throwing the stickers into the package with the books. It’s a slightly different usage of the word from the normal definition but it is still quite common.
In a nutshell: In the way you were using the word in the sentence, you want to use throw, because throw and through are completely different words and throw is the one that makes sense.
Hope that helps!
Ugh, I hadn’t looked back at what I typed. I had assumed I had typed “throw”, and couldn’t figure out why I was being corrected.
Did the armor glove just disappear?
It’s a reference to your blurb about the book sale.

Mr. David is saying that the third sentence should read, “I’ll even throw in some stickers!”
He’s also saying that the word “through” would be better used in a sentence like, “Golly! This book sale will make my profit margins fly through the roof!”
Hm, I remember seeing a certain… thing… on the splash page for this chapter. It hasn’t shown up yet.
Are we going to be seeing that thing Monday, or even next week?
Those aren’t really too accurate. I mean, we never saw everything from the season 2 cover either.
Why did he approach her? He could have made a attack at her from where he stood. Between the sword and his arm he easily has 2m range.
But then again this is sword agaisnt spear. The sword stays somewhat usefull in close quarters whereas the spear will be almost useless.
And of course he might go for a “You are no match for me” action.
Eek! Why’d you have to make me cringe the morning (it still is for me!) after Whiskey Congeniality Night?
Best of luck on the surgery, Jake! If the Doc’s got a metal codpiece on, run.
I can’t help but think Marah’s fate lies in the success of that dental surgery. If it puts Jake in a bad mood… 🙂
I think he is going to let her kill him there by making modest the ruler and forcing her to have to stay in yeld
Though he’s not taught her how to be a horrible despot yet. Without his guidance, she might create a Pokemocracy.
I can see it now. “Didn’t you know? In my kingdom everything good and pure… becomes a pocket monster eventually.”
So that’s what it looks like when someone suddenly realizes that they have no combat training. 😉
As Codpiece Man is way overextending himself, all she needs to do is sidestep and stab him from behind.
The Prince is waaaaaay too close to actually slice Marah. He’s just going to ram the handle into her nose and and break it making it bleed. Assuming Marah didn’t just trip and fall on her back.
Its funny you mention dental surgery tomorrow, because I too have dental surgery tomorrow. We can be dental surgery brothers and share the same toothbrush.
… Okay, no. But I too hafta go to the dentist for a couple of SURPRISE! cavities. I honestly thought I treated my teeth better than my brother, and he has none and I have two minors? Life isn’t fair.
For someone who claimed to be ready, Marah looked worried from panel one.
On the other hand, the faerie looks a little worried in the last panel, so maybe she turned things around and we aren’t seeing it.
I can’t wait for the next comic! Keep up the good work, Jake!
Since Jake seems to like overwhelmingly powerful villains, I’m guessing the only other outcome is pity not dumb luck saves the day(maybe).
Is it weird that over 24 hours of duty on the weekend I must have refreshed this page over 50 times, fully knowing it wouldn’t do anything until Monday?
Sorry to keep you waiting.
The Prince is so awesome in his swordplay that he manages to slide his hand down the hilt while swinging the blade full force. He’s too pro.
