Hey everyone. Dennis Workman is a Modest Medusa reader, and right now he’s having a really hard time. He’s temporarily homeless and trying to move back to family in Seattle. I know things are tough all over right now, but if you can help out a member of this community with a few bucks I know he’d really appreciate it. Here’s the Gofundme.
– Hi everyone. I’d like to mention that you can support my work on Patreon or Ko-fi (or by ordering stuff from my store). I’m sure you won’t be surprised to find that I don’t make much. Since the pandemic money has been especially tight, and I’ve had to spend more and more time on freelance work and commissions to pay the bills. Which means less time making comics and art for you all to enjoy. Recently things have improved a little due to several very generous readers, but I could still use your support. If you can spare a small monthly contribution through Patreon or a tip through Ko-fi I’d really appreciate. Your support directly help finance both my comics work and pay my living expenses!
Don’t snakes continuously lose and replace teeth all through their lives? Better be ready for it, Modest!
Snakes have rootless teeth that are anchored in the gums, not the jawbone. The teeth can easily be pulled out, and often are when swallowing prey (and pass intact through the digestive system). There are multiple backup teeth buried in the gums that move to the surface when this happens.
A 12 foot python has teeth a quarter inch long shaped more like a needle than what we think of as a tooth, and is more properly called a fangs. Modest doesn’t have snake teeth, since her teeth are quite visible and definitely not sharp and pointy (sorry, Jake, now you have to figure out what they are). The hair snakes might have snake teeth; that would make sense. Modest has a humanoid face, so her teeth presumably look humanoid as well.
What happened to the fishies on the pyjama?
I think snakes can regrow teeth multiple times (whenever they lose one it regrows).
I’m not sure if the teachers are aware of her snakey nature or not but if they are she could ask one. Or she could ask Jake and he could google it. 😀
I forgot them! I’ll try to remember to go back and add them.
Snakes do grow back lost teeth!
If any clothing gets a pass on changing appearance between frames, it’s magic jam jams.
I had been wondering about that. I understand the kid not realizing they would keep growing back for snakes or that Modest’s biology is that different than her own.
Where’s the fishies?
I forgot them. I’ll add them back.
Or maybe could handwave it as part of the magic. “The pajamas know they are in a more proper setting, so the fish went away until fun or sleep time starts”
The fish have moved in every panel. So maybe they just took off?
The fish roam around in schools.
They fell off the jam jams while Modest was looking for the lost tooth 😀
This is what cuteness is made of
*snrk* 😀
