The results are in for this year’s Modest Medusa character popularity contest! This year was a close race, with several characters getting a similar number of votes. Here’s the full list!

* I forgot to add Jake as a voting option this year, similar to how I forgot to add Marah a few years ago. While Jake got a few write in votes, it wasn’t enough to break the top 10. Better luck next year, guy!

1. Marah: Marah has taken the #1 spot every year since I removed Modest as an option. This was a big year for Marah, but I decided to draw her in her classic outfit. Grey hoodie, black leggings.

2. Lady Emmra Bell: The Drudge Angel took a surprise 2nd place. We still haven’t gotten to know her very well, and her appearances in the comic this year were sparse, but she’s clearly a favorite. I put her in a jogging suit that matches her normal costume. Of course, she kept the helmet.

3/4. (a tie) Meg and Jenny: We haven’t actually seen Jenny in the comic since teh end of last season. meg at least showed up in this season’s intermission comic! Here they’re wearing the school’s gym uniforms.

5. Cbar: Cbar makes a surprise debut at 5th place. A strong showing for the silent Vampire! Their brother Tenzin didn’t quite get enough votes to make the top 10.

6. Raccoon: The pirate medusa continues to be Modest’s most popular sister, despite being unseen since 2019. She doesn’t go to school with the other kids, so she gets to go jogging in a sweatshirt.

7/8/9. (a 3 way tie): Glados, Matt and Halloween Cat: Glado continues to show up almost every year, but this is the first time appearance for Halloween Cat (who is luring in the background like a ghost of some kind). Matt shows up in his human form for the first time, although he’s made the list before as the Chainsaw Unicorn.

10: Ha-Yoon: Ha-Yoon wasn’t as popular as Halloween Cat this year, which has her worried!

This year the poll had almost 200 votes, including write in votes on Patreon, Discord and Deviant Art! Thank you all so much for participating. We’re about to entre the 15th year of Modest Medusa and I’m excited to keep telling stories with all these characters.
