– I’ll be livestreaming some drawing tomorrow afternoon from 4-6pm. Probably. My computer is acting a little wonky. So check my twitter, tumblr and facebook page tomorrow for updates.
– Posting a few hours late today. Sorry about that! So… today’s strip features my friend Nathanael Cole, who was one of the generous backers from the last Kickstarter who paid to be featured in this season. Nathanael told me he’d like to be part of Toothfacer’s gang from those guest strips that Rick Marcks did back in December. Uh huh, sure. When Rick gave me those strips I was kind of amazed because Toothfacer had appeared in exactly a single panel of the comic (this one), and was never even named. I decided to stick Rick into these strips too to fill out the gang. So that’s what that’s all about.
– You may remember that drawing I posted a few weeks ago featuring medusa dressed as an Airbender holding hands with Korra and Asami? Someone at Patreon saw it and liked it, and contacted me about buying the original art. I’m told they’re decorating their office with art created by Patreon users, which is pretty great. I colored this up with Copic markers, and I think it turned out pretty okay. I didn’t have several colors that I would have liked to use, so I had to improvise a little. Asami’s hair isn’t quite as dark as I’d like, and her jacket ended up being a blended combination of green and maroon. Thank god it worked out! I also didn’t have a proper orange for Medusa’s airbender cape, but I think it looks okay. I used a brush and ink from a copic refill to do the blue background., and touched up the whole thing with a black marker. I’ve included a few photos so you an see the work in progress. Click on the picture to see it at full size.
– I’m mentioning Patreon again, just to remind you all that if you enjoy Modest Medusa I always appreciate the support. Money is always tight, but your contributions through Patreon help me pay my bills every month, and that’s a huge deal. Thank you all so much. You can check out my Patreon page here.
I just watched a serpentine HMAU engage Boromir, Bruce Willis, and Groot at close quarters with a foam blaster, and then saw that same agent participate in a philosophical discussion, the main point of which was that baldness is a good indicator of moral instability.
I got nothing. 0_o
I’m glad at least someone gets what I’m trying to do with this comic.
Like. Like! Where’s that blasted like button?!
😛
The scale goes:
evil = bald
bad = crew cut
neutral = hair
good = long hair
very good = snakes
Snakes tend to score very high when it comes to scales. 😀
*groans like Protonjon after Chuggaaconroy tells a bad pun*
Just stumbled onto your comic late last night. I couldn’t put it down! I’m caught up already! XD
Thanks for reading!
(grabs a snake) this is what hair is supposed to look like
No matter what kind of day I’m having, Modest always makes me smile.
Well of course Toothfacer wouldnt be considered a Weirdo he’s part of Modest’s home town. In her eyes he’s the most normal on there.
Maybe if he had python dreadlocks…
Hmm, this argument of weird is invalid as “The other guy” is bald too. Though, I suppose he’s wearing a hat.
I’ve decided to reread modest medusa with melissa hutchinson’s clementine voice in my head for Modest’s dialogue, Becca’s for Marah. Tim Curry isn’t in the game but he does The Prince’s voice in my head. The only problem is finding a fitting voice for Jake and Charles.
Just imagine Charles as Finn and Jake as Jake the Dog.
I’m sure at some point science will prove that a bald head equals and evil mind. Someday.
This page made me laugh out loud.
