Um, it says this is a new comic, but I can’t see an image for it.
Looks like I forgot to add the image. Should be fixed now.
Should have claimed it was an avant-garde approach of comic minimalism you were testing out. ( ゚‿ ゚)
Adopted the nickname 😀
Setting bait?
Meg: Modest called me “Ekans” shortly after I met her – I hadn’t told her my name, Jake Richmond wanted her to introduce me, and so she gave that as my name instead of asking me. Typical Modest! *chuckle*
Modest: *chuckle* Yes, popular culture was my first resort back then…
Meg: True… it was actually the name of a snake-creature from the long-running Pokémon franchise – yes, the pokémon creature came first, it wasn’t named after me. Anyway, the name hung around me until I ended up in Yeld for that long stay, and grew these fine horns, strong claws, useful elbow spurs, and, of course, the girls… *strokes her fat hair-serpents affectionately* …and then it really stuck, and fit very well. And of course, all that made me an obvious choice for Ambassador to Yeld. But to answer the original question, both names have been mine for decades now, and I feel equally at home answering to either. And “Her Excellency Ekans” is nicely alliterative… *chuckle*
Interviewer: So, are you glad you bumped into Princess Modest on that day, all those years ago?
Meg: Yes. Very, I think. We have been friends ever since, and I would never have had such an interesting life, or a friend like Modest otherwise.
Modest: And I’m very glad she bumped into me! As I said, back when we were girls, “you are the BEST friend”. She helped a LOT, back at the time, and with not turning into a giant snake later.
Interviewer: I hear that your “girls” are also friendly…
Meg: *laughs* Alright… this has been filmed before, but for a heartwarming close… *gets up, walks to Modest* Yes… we, and they, have all been happy that we have this in common.
Modest: *coil-glomps her legs, draws her close*
Modest and Meg: *HUG* ♥
Serpents: *weave and coil together* ♥
Interviewer: Queen Modest, Ambassador Ekans, thank you.
Modest and Meg: 🙂 *wave*

Yeah, if someone handed me a bag of chocodiles, their time as bait wouldn’t be very long.
I was in Walmart and saw my first Chocodile today. I naturally thought of this comic, and am impressed they are also showing up here today.
What? they’re real?
Huh? Didn’t you realize that everything in “Modest Medusa” is real? You should visit Portland and experience the weirdness for yourself.
Yep, Chocodiles are a real thing. I’d never heard of them until Jake used them in this comic, but there’s even a Wikipedia page for them.
Or Jake could eat them himself and the sugar rush will help keep him awake.
Or will it? Is it even really a thing?
Sugar rush is a real thing, as anyone who’s watched kids almost literally bounce off walls after eating a bunch of sweets can attest. It affects adults as well, but not quite as vividly. In adults it usually results in extra energy that can help with getting things done.
The ‘rush’ is not, the fairly quick availability of energy is.
The sacred talismans! They shall summon medusas with great alacrity!
