Welp, given this whole storyline is flashback we can assume things wont be too bad.
Ya know, I felt this way when we were first introduced to the prince and I kind of feel this way, now: he doesn’t seem so bad. But, then I remember what happened when Modest met the real prince, and I start to wonder…
Buuut, this prince is, ya know, a part of her. So, maybe…

The Prince is complicated. He is awful and evil, and his evil is based in his own greed and self interest. But he’s also very smart, and pretty sexy, and there are hints that he may have some semi-admirable qualities. Theres a LOT about the Prince in the Yeld roleplaying game (which some of you already have), and it was difficult to try to show who he is without paining him as sympathetic. He’s a monster, but the more younget to know a monster the harder it is to see that about them.
You’re doing a wonderful job, in all these regards, Jake. It would’ve been easy to make a two-dimensional “Grr, I’m evil” big-bad, but the fact that you gave him personality… hopes… ambitions… Well, that just makes him all-the-more-interesting, to me!

I can think of some real-world examples that reflect that, ha hah…
