I’m intrigued. How does she know it’s Ecksbocks?
I assume her voice hasn’t changed.
Smell? Snakes are really good at smelling.
its never been really said that they don’t now how ecksbocks looks. it was more that ecksbocks self exiled herself with the gorgon when she embraced her changes, while the other sisters actively are resisting them.
get the feeling they all have seen her before the official going to live with the gorgon full time happened.
Looks like the Ecksbocks is out of the bag. This was inevitable, plus she isn’t exactly the most inconspicuous creature under the sun. Xbox is huge! They are gonna need a bigger bag, and Men in Black’s Mind Eraser.
I’m not sure which is the worst crime: eating my best stuff, or cheating at games?
He eats her best stuff? Did he absorb the consciousness of the one that eats everything!?

Oh, I finally get it. The snakes are different parts of her.
Seems modest has an identity crisis of snakey proportions ….hehehe
If I had to guess, maybe the rebel snake is a kind of conjoined twin thing with fully separate consciousness, or some evil mad scientist *thunder and lightning surround like any good one* did some experiments… yeah, that one might be too creepy for this story. Also biology can get weird.
Okay, so I guess we’re doing THIS now.

So something I’ve noticed on re-reading this series:

Modest and her sisters all have yellow eyes and Naga’s eyes are pink. Is there a reason for that?
The idea was originally that each generation would have a different eye color. So Naga and Gorgon SHOULD have the same eye color.
Oh, neat! Maybe my monitor’s just weird. Or … maybe there’s story reasons. I won’t pry!
