I tried to break out of kid prison when I was younger. They just added more time to my sentence. It was called detention. Let’s hope Modest has better luck.
It’s also a portal to another world – but you can find that out the hard way.
Kid: I can’t sleep in a toilet!! It’s gonna be all yucky!!
Modest: Oh, yeah… Wait! Can you spell your name?!
Modest: Then it’ll be fine! You can put your name on my old “Don’t pee on the Medusa” sign! Yay!
Principal (watching Modest and crowd of schoolkids charging off out of sight): Well, Mister Richmond, I believe I can give you a firm decision on Modest’s enrollment right now…
In 2015, Modest Medusa escaped from Shawshank Elementary. All they found of her was a shed snake tail, a Nintendo DS, and a Pokémon card, filed down to a nub. I remember thinking it would take a kid six hundred minutes to pick a lock with it. Old Modest did it in less than twenty minutes.
Reading that in Morgan Freeman’s voice makes it utterly hilarious!
Something tells me they might not understand the toilet was her bed thing. Enter child protective services.
Funny how no one ever seems to notice that Modest ain’t exactly human…
Modest has been around the neighborhood for awhile now, she’s old news.
They’ve noticed, but they’re taking it in stride apart from the ‘weird-shaming’.
After a discussion like that, I guess the time for making friends really *is* over…
Jake, can I just say I love the visual busyness of the panels. They all look like they took a very long time to draw, so thank you for working so hard!
Thanks! They did take a long time to draw, but I think they turned out well. I’m glad you liked it!
*facepalm* ^^; Once Modest’s gotten an idea into her mind, she is forever loathe to let it go, isn’t she?
