– Sorry this one was a little late. Or really late, I guess. You probably noticed taht I’ve beeen missing the Friday updates for a few weeks. I’m hoping that’ll change this week and I’ll be back to the normal 3-strips-a-week schedule. We’ll see.
– I kind of did a crappy job of the backgrounds in the last strip, and I guess a lot of you thought Modest had summoned some kind of portal and climbed into it. I hope this strip makes the whole thing a little more clear!
– Hey, Modest Medusa was nominated for a bunch of Drunk Duck Awards, including Best Overall Comic Strip, Best Adventure Comic, Best Comic Layouts, Best Plot Development, Most Improved Art, Best Protagonist and Best Antagonist! Holy crap! I’d love to win some of these, but it really is great just tom be nominated. Thanks Drunk Duck!
“Oh. Okay.” That’s all Modest has to say after Jake has that touching after school special dialogue with her.
Just leave her in the hole.
She’s easily swayed is all.
Well, she is a young girl. And just getting over being hurt by his words.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I have a theory on the pirate weasels! They were once regular pirates who found their way into Yeld, and were all transformed into pirates.
I mean they were transformed into weasles.
That sounds better than anything I’ve come up with.
Or they were weasels on Earth who were transformed into PIRATES! Yeah. 🙂
They were a race of things who didn’t know if they were weasels or otters or what due to donkey mule type genetics and they were lost and confused and ended up in Yeld gaining the ability to speak and they looked for work. The captain said to them one day “What be Ye?” and they said “We don’t know” And he said “WRONG! Ye be Pirates!” And from that day forth there was no question of what they were.
That sounds good too!
You forgot the “YARR!” >->
Aww! Jake, you fixed everything perfectly! 🙂
Oh, if you need fillers for when you are busy I can make a few! 🙂
I would like to help, but I don’t know how…
hey, sure. Send me something.
I’m sorry, I need to finish some of the sketches.
But i’ll send you them tomorrow!
I just sent you the finished sketches. Let me know if there is an error or something. 🙂
Got em!
Well, looks like (cartoon) Jake just made up for his careless remark from the previous strip. I have to say, Modest went from “depressed, willing to live in a hole in the wall” to “surprisingly okay” pretty quickly there… but I guess we have to think of Modest as having the brain of a little kid, and they’re pretty easy to swap emotional states on the fly.
that was easy…
“And we’ll milk cows and ducks… and grow sheep… and we won’t tell the sheep we are STUCK with them!” This had me laughing pretty loudly. Thanks Jake, that line alone makes the page!
One wonders about the feasibility of milking ducks on a regular basis.
Aw, I feel like turning this comic into a song…
Aww…
Also: STRIP! NINE! HUNDREEEEEEEEEED!!!
Strip 900?
It’s not quite 900. The link says page 900 because there have been several filler posts in between. It’s post #900, but not strip #900.
I honestly can’t imagine it’s post 900 either, especially since we’re only on strip 320. that would mean almost 600 filler strips!
The page number on WordPress-driven websites often gets pretty inflated. Just from a quick estimation of the archives, it closer to about 350-400 pages (Yay! page 350-400!) Jake: Mort means the URL for this page.
Oh, I see. We’re at 320 official strips. There’s been a number of filler strips, guess strips and stuff like that though. So I bet we’re closer to 400.
Hmm. Maybe it has something to do with updates and re-uploads.
This webcomic is Adorable (and this strip in particular is Doubly so). I discovered it just yesterday and have read it all. I am especially fond of the The unicorn with The Chainsaw Horn (or, as I have taken to reffering to them inside of my head, “Unisawn” and “Chainsorn” (I can’t decide on a Spelling D:)) Can’t wait to see what Mara is turning into. I doubt she has much to worry about, though, if’n The Chainsawn is anything to go by.
I kind of like Chainsorn. Just sounds better to me.
Aww… You love her Jake just admit it.
Our world also transform people into monsters – scariest of them would be human.
“Meermaid 2:Snakemade”
You don’t grow sheep, you cut them in half and some sort of mitosis happens. And at least milking ducks is proactive; it’s not like she’s just goin to wait for the cows to lay eggs.
“I’m gonna stick like glue, yeah, yeah, because I’m (boom-boom) stuck on a-you.”
Anyone else notice that Jake is developing a lump on his forehead? I think he might need a doctor.
That, or an adult.
Maybe he’s growing a chainsaw!
