I have a few new original illustrations available for sale on my store. Money from these sales helps me pay bills, and is greatly appreciated! Check out my store here.
– Hi everyone. I’d like to mention that you can support my work on Patreon or Ko-fi (or by ordering stuff from my store). I’m sure you won’t be surprised to find that I don’t make much. Since the pandemic money has been especially tight, and I’ve had to spend more and more time on freelance work and commissions to pay the bills. Which means less time making comics and art for you all to enjoy. Recently things have improved a little due to several very generous readers, but I could still use your support. If you can spare a small monthly contribution through Patreon or a tip through Ko-fi I’d really appreciate. Your support directly help finance both my comics work and pay my living expenses!
She will never fully recover from that
Mentally or socially?
Both
yes
I dunno, she had no problem being naked in the beginning. She only wears clothes because Jake told her it was normal.
Ah, the common nightmare of being naked in class.
except real!
But she used to wear nothing at first…
Everyone is born naked. Many then get too used to wearing clothes to go back to that.
Why didn’t it revert to her original clothes?
If I had to guess, the spell CREATES the clothes rather than transforming whatever you’re currently wearing. If that’s the case, Modest probably went to bed in just the magic pajamas, so she didn’t have anything on underneath.
Okay, she really should’ve warned Modest about that. Poor Modest x(
Do you really think she would have heard anything past the magic new clothes part?
Well, now that you mention it…
I mean, I know it’s her name, but does she really have the capacity for embarrassment regarding clothes like that? A part of me is expecting everyone to either laugh at her, or be embarrassed for her, and she just claps and regains pajamatude.
Whelp here comes that phone call Jake. Be ready!
Saves on laundry.
Modest’s eagerness to read aloud in front of the class is adorable.
Well, hopefully everyone will be too distracted by the fact the clothes were magic to laugh.
…What exactly are they reading? That doesn’t sound like something you’d normally run into in an elementary school.
I was going to have them read Where the red Fern Grows, or something like that. Something I read in school. But I couldn’t find the text online. So I resorted to something I had in the studio. This is the first paragraph of Nausicca of the valley of the Wind.
Yikes, no wonder it’s so heavy. I was actually concerned it was some kind of history book making some heavy-handed anti-western interpretations.
Ditto. I though Jake was going all-in on politics and declaring himself to be a full-on Extinction Rebellion member.
My advice on putting politics in your comic: don’t. Other than the tyranny vs. freedom thing in the magical world.
I don’t know what “Extinction Rebellion” is. I’m also not “all in on politics.” Is that what you think my occasional extremely mild comments are?
Other than a single strip where I begged my readers not to support an openly bigoted and famously racist candidate, I don’t think I’ve ever made a political statement in my comics at all.
In any case, there’s literally nothing political, or even controversial, about the text quoted in this comics.
And she never went back to school again.
Is Jenny living with Jake’s sister, now?
Yeah, she has been since she reappeared in Season 5.
