Yeah, Mermaids are really strong. We’ve seen Jenny pick people up before, and she managed to keep Halloween Cat from stepping on people.

We haven’t really seen anything about this in the comic, but Mermaids are an artificially creation of the Deep. They’re genetically engineered super soldiers, so they’re like Captain America strong. They’re meant to fight Fairies and Vampires. Jenny’s at least a second generation mermaid, so she grew up in the Kingdom in stead of whatever culture the Deep has (although we’ve seen she has some connection to that), so she probably didn’t get the same kind of military indoctrination from birth that the Mermaids of the Deep get. But she’s still really strong.

Anyone who does a lot of swimming is going to be strong; pushing a body quickly through water is hard.

Ouch! I don’t think the water is that deep.
They may have to leave the pool soon.

He clearly jumped in, breaking his no jumping rule.
Thrown? Nah, prove it, I don’t see any cameras, I saw the man jump!

a Mermaid or Hydra would probably make a good lifeguard.

being able to breathe underwater means they could sit on the bottom of the pool and see struggling swimmers easier.

They would also tend to overestimate how long a person could be underwater before they need rescuing.
