Are you kidding? You *never* kill off the greatest villain in the story. That is the kiss of death to good drama. A hero is defined by their villain. Every bad Hollywood movie plot has a bad villain or a hero who has no real challenge.
And when you look closely at the story arc CU is not necessarily a villain–just a total bad ass. His “job” is to come rescue Medusa. Mom thinks she needs to come home–not “jail,” “home.” Now, the fact that Medusa has made friends with Mara and that Jake will fight to protect Medusa makes CU and Jake heroes on opposite side of the fence. This is unlike the Bitchy Mermaids (who were too much fun and added a lot to the plot line). They were just bitchy mermaids. Minor asides. The clash of wills–Jake verses Momdusa is a great plot line. I dunno what Jake has in store, but so far he has created great characters. CU has his own tee shirt (as do the Bitchy Mermaids). Great characters make a story. Weak ones, or ones that get killed off too easily or quickly drain a story of its life force. But it is not my story, so I have no control over any of this. I am just happy (yes, happy) that CU lives one more day. Killing him off would be like killing Darth Vader–“okay, now what?”
Not the scanner again! Darn it all just when you want to use something it decides to stop working. 🙁 Hopefully that’s fixed soon, cause that really sucks.
I’m planning on buying the new cintiq fairly soon. I don’t know if I’ll ever give up analog drawing though. Dragging a pen across a clean sheet of paper is my zen.
When my scanner finally died, I was between jobs and money was a major factor. They’re not “high-end”, but Canon’s multifunction devices have decent-quality scanners, and (especially at Wal-Mart) they’re stupidly cheap, with the higher models still cheaper than the cheapest stand-alone scanners.
Ah. Yeah, that would do it to. Had one occasion where someone asked me to try to figure out why they couldn’t print, and it turned out that, while the cable was screwed in all the way on the back of the computer, it wasn’t pushed in all the way, so the pins weren’t actually making contact. Cables (usually) being cheaper than printers, if that isn’t the problem, having a spare around never hurts. 😉
Get a flash drive/SD card, drive to a Best Buy, Officemax, Office Depot, go to a display printer/scanner/copier, and scan to memory card. If they ask what you are doing, say you are product testing.
Either that or go to one of those places and buy a USB cord, if that fixes the problem, it was the cord. and you can then return the bought cord knowing your problem, and buy a cord for $2 online. Or if it doesn’t fix the problem, get a new scanner, and still return the bought cord.
Chainsaw Unicorn lives to see one more sunrise . . .
Are you happy or sad about that? Maybe a little bittersweet?

You know there’s more than just one chainsaw unicorn, he’s already killed one off
No, it crawled away. Remember?
Poor boy o.o
Freaky scanner
*pats*
^^
You’ll pay for this indignity scanner!! To the recyclers with him!
So. Freaken. Adorable.
You’re just covering for Urano while he pummels the snot outta CU with illegal chair shots.
looks like Technology wins again
I don’t know, I think this page itself is kind of funny, I would not want it every update but as something to tide your fans over it is good.

That’s scanners for you. They’re temperamental as hell. You should jut get a tablet, man. Go full digital.

I have a pen tablet!
. . . but I have no artistic talent 😛

I think my scanner is actually fine. I suspect the usb cord is malfunctioning.

See Jake having a filler for every possibly emergency is a good idea

Walmrt has no restocking fee
*cracks whip*
good comic all the same… medusa is always cute.
I’m sure it had nothing to do with the pizza she was trying to digitize.
