Call her at 10PM with a difficult question. Or 11PM if you are angry. People that are bright and cheerful at 6AM tend to be not so cheerful late at night.
1AM would be pushing it too hard. But I think that 10PM would be socially acceptable, given cause (excuse).
I lived with Kate the year after Marah was born to help take care of her. I did an okay job. But i also didn’t have to do anything except immideate care. I didn’t have to grocery shop or plan meals or anything. It was mostly just changing diapers and feeding and carrying her around or letting her sleep or playing with her. Glorified simple babysitting. I know how to take care of a kid, since I’m the oldest of 4 siblings and lik 16 grandkids, and I worked in a day care for awhile too. But I’m also not super invested in it. Comic Jake is even less so, I think. He does his best, but odest could probably enefit from more traditional care. Mostly a more stable schedule, a cleaner enviroment and better meals.
The ability to use fell magics to disappear a bowl of cereal mid-rant does not a good parent make.
How do we know she didn’t use these powers to eat all of Modest and Jake’s Trix from afar whilst cruelly leaving the empty box in the pantry to make Jake look like a buffoon? Not even the rabbit would stoop to such levels!
I mean, there’s probably an similar amount of sugar in each. Plus as long as it isn’t made into a habit it’s okay to have and ice cream sandwich for breakfast.
When your micromanaging child friend of similar age thinks they can outparent your carefree adult parent. So relatable. . . wait, no it’s not.
Ekans just might ensnare Modest & kick Jake out of the job, better beware – tricks are for kids xD.
It takes three legs to balance a table. If that’s a neapolitan ice cream sandwich, that makes it a balanced meal. This is also true of rainbow sherbet.
Research suggests that a variety of preferred sleep schedules is actually an evolutionary advantage. Night owls keep watch over early sleepers, while early birds protect late risers. Studies of primitive tribes with no knowledge of modern technology suggest that the whole tribe spends only brief period all asleep at the same time.
So you named the brand Trix but not Cherrios? Does it have to do with the hoops being wider and thinner?
I’m not sure why I did that.
Autopilot.
Ice cream for breakfast? Uhh, can Jake me MY dad!? XD
Weird, but also not untrue.
Definitely not the best nutritionally, but all that sugar should help wake her up. She’ll be bouncing off the walls in time for school!
Just because it’s true doesn’t mean it’s not weird!

So the big question – if you Real Jake ever babysat Marah, would her mom agree with this assessment?
Thanks for the strip!
Well…

I think she was so angry she just threw the bowl.

Was expecting Jake to say Chocodile, but those clearly aren’t breakfast food

Ekans kinda scares me now 😳

That table as 4 legs if you count Jake’s legs.
The tyranny of early risers, bane of all people who get up at a reasonable time.
