– Groudon only looks like a Fire Turd on the cover of the game. Otherwise he just looks like some kind of lizard cosplaying as an electric razor. Kyogre is clearly cooler. Modest just has bad taste in Pokemon.
– I’ve posted another art auction. This one is a nice illustration of a Fairy Soldier. It doesn’t have Medusa on it, so there probably won’t be much competition (so you can get it for cheap I bet). You can check out the listing here. Money from this and past auctions is going directly toward paying to complete and ship my last Kicksatretr project, which ended up being more expensive than expected.
Nuh uh! JAKE looks like a turd. :p
Bulbasaur is still the best. End of discussion.
Thats just nostalgia and the fact he can come in like a wrecking ball for the first 3 gyms talking.
Charmander!
I have no doubt!
Squirtle was my very first Pokémon, but I eventually restarted and got Charmander because Charizard can fly.
But if Ghastly could be a starter, I’d pick up him instead.
Look, it doesn’t even matter which of those two is better; Rayquaza is the best.
To be fair, Zekrom didn’t look any better than Reshiram. They were both terrible designs.
Jake had an joke for either pokemon and if Modest chose an older game she doesnt have. Thats part of the fun of being a trolldad. Notice Jake didnt promise.
Nothing makes you feel more like a man than picking on a small child, I do it all the time! 😛
How else are they going to learn the ways of the world and how to do it themselves when they’re older?
Not “Picking on” “Trolling” it sounds better.
To be fair, he did not say he would not make fun >:)
I pick groudon because is a whale bird that can’t fly and has no mouth. Waillord > Kyogre

I actually haven’t played Pokemon since the whole Reshiram fiasco, so after reading the comments so far actually took the time to look up Groudon and Kyogre.
Ah, Pokemon, all your good designers must have died.
You will not mock the almighty Drought! The Droughtbearer came down and passed it onto the ninetails, who were the only creatures intelligent enough to make use of its awesome might!
Who was the successor to your “Wailord with hot-rod flames”? Oh yeah, a retarded frog!
(all said in jest, of course!)
But seriously, I am just a fanboy of fire, so anything red or on fire is cool by me.
Favorite pokemon type?: Fire
Favorite element to use in RPGs?: Fire
Favorite characters in Smash Bros?:
– Zelda because awesome and fireballs.
– Charizard because flare blitz, and fire.
– Megaman because it is FRIGGIN MEGAMAN IN SMASH (oh yeah, and I guess he has crash bomber)
By the way, yer welcome to use “Wailord with hot-rod flames” as a joke, but know the source! I’ma patent it!
If the joke had gone the other way and I had a time travel device I might have been tempted.
Well, who doesn’t love Megaman?
Capcom, apparently. 🙁
BA-ZING!
Support the creating artist, not the greedy corporation that took it…
MIGHTY No. 9!
Hey, now, Jake, Groudon is a cute lava monster/electric razor.
don’t be a butt, Jake
“Alpha Sapphire: Too much water”-IGN 2014
Side note: You misspelled Kickstarter in your announcement of the auction. Just wanted to let you know
Wow, I REALLY misspelled it.
its almost like you tried to not spell it…
It travelled to Yeld and transformed into a Kicksatyr.
Well, a lizard cosplaying as an electric razor still equals spiky red Godzilla. Though really I’m pretty meh on most legendaries that aren’t fetus cats.
The question is, which game between X and Y would Modest have chosen, and how would Jake have mocked her decision?
I liked X, so I’m guessing she’d choose Y. Which is okay, because they both looked pretty cool.
That’s just mean man.
I’m done… just done!
-_-‘
Groudon is fairly OP against anything water…and i have to agree with modest, Omega Ruby one is better. too bad they didn’t make emerald to go with it this time…
Did anyone else notice you’re $1.75 away from ask Medusa?
For the 4th time, actually. I hit the $800 mark a few months ago, but the Patreon keeps dropping back down again. That’s just how it works. Some months it goes up, some months it goes down. It’s sometimes aggravating to watch it drop, but I have to remember that everyone giving money has been extremely generous, and if they have to cancel or reduce their monthly contribution it’s certainly for a good reason. Anyway, it’s crest back over eventually. I was hoping to make it to $1200 before the end of teh year, since that’s what I need to cover my monthly expenses, but overall I’m very pleased with teh progress so far, especially since at the beginning I thought $100 would be next to impossible.
You easily deserve over $1200 per month for Modest Medusa. It’s one of the best webcomics I read. Full of heart. If I even had a job, nevermind a credit card, I’d be contributing. But… well, moral support and all. (UGH… the temptation to say “over $9000!)
That’s the other side of it though. Not everyone needs to, or should, contribute. No one should feel compelled to. I always appreciate support, but people also show that support in different ways. Some people do it through Patreon or Kickstarter. Some people buy commissions or original art. Some people recommend the comic to their friends or reblog it. Some people spot comments here almost every day. I appreciate all of that. Some people just read quietly, and that’s fine too. I appreciate that too.
It would be nice if 5% of my readership supported my Patreon, and maybe that will happen someday, but I know that doesn’t make sense for everyone, and I know a lot of people simply can’t afford to spend money every month, especially on something they’d get for free. That’s just not something a lot of people want to do, even if they’re totally willing to support the project in other ways. I can understand that. But for me, Patreon makes a huge amount of sense. There’s several artists I give money too every month (even though I can’t afford it really) because they’re work is important to me and I want to encourage them and make sure they know what they’re doing is worthwhile to me. Honestly, I could probably spend $1000 each month on Patreon supporting artists I love. If I had the money that would be a fine investment.
Oh, sorry. I didn’t know the goals could drop if it went down after passing them. :/
Well, people are free to take their money back if they need to or want to, so that happens sometimes. The goal was still reached though. I’ve done a few “Ask Medusa”. I plan on doing more. I have a backlog of questions to get through! they’re fun.
Where are the ask Medusa’s? Are they on a tumblr or are they mixed in the updates?
I’ve posted them on tumblr, DA, my Patreon page and a here. If you look back you’ll find them. But I haven’t done any in a few weeks. I’ll have some new ones next week, and I’m going to try to do one or two every week from now on.
Modest, here’s what you do:
Punch Jake in the junk, this will teach him to keep such opinions to himself, and make you feel better.
No offense, but Typhlosion is by far the best pokemon. Don’t think rationally. Don’t ask questions.
Psh, Gengar is clearly the best. Hands down!
Waaaaait a seconds. She’s onlies been there fors six months, buts the games wents from Black & White straight tos Omega Ruby an’ Alpha Sapphire? Witchcrafts! >@.@<
Also, Rei is nots sure what Pokemon she likes bests, but Nezumi reallies likes Jigglypuff an' Marill.
