– So, The Deep and Mermaids. I don’t think The Deep has ever been referenced in the comic before, although mermaids are referred to as “Daughters of the Deep” at least once. The Deep is mentioned a little in the Yeld RPG as Dragul’s ancient enemy. Its a powerful entity that inhabits the oceans and seas of Yeld. Its been at war with Dragul and his Hunters for a thousand years, and it created the Mermaids as soldiers to fight that war. of curse, some Mermaids escaped The Deep and found homes in Yeld, and some were born in Yeld and have never known The Deep, but all Mermaids are terrified of it.
The coils of the deep? Cold empty darkness?
It’s Cthulhu!
Sigh, Of course, because Crhulhu always has to be associated with tentacles just because he has some on his face.
So… time to finally officially defect for good?
“Cold wet nothing” always sounds tempting this time of year, but I know in four months I’ll look bad on this fondly.
Lucky you. We got a cold wet summer this year.
First she said “To save your friend you need to leave and do this thing,” and now she says “Because you left I did it myself.” This whole situation feels like a set-up to me.
Interesting Lore on The Deep. So is it one single entity that encompasses the whole of Yelds waters much like the serpent Jormungand or does it travel around and just appear where it wants? I kinda wander why it didn’t make a move when everyone sieged against the princes castle now. And does it have any connection to the Medusa race?
All good questions.
Cold Wet Nothing was my high school nickname.
You and me both.
“Whom do you serve?”
“SARUMAAAANNNNN…” 😉
Of all the adjectives I might apply to Prince Dragul, “kind” is pretty near the bottom.
They either have a warped view of the Prince or are willing to excuse and embrace his cruelty and pretend its something else as long as its not focused on them.
