– Its so damn hot in Portland this week! but also, thunder storms! I was woke out of a dead sleep at 3am by thunder so loud I though a bomb had gone off. Everything in my room was shaking!
This was, I kid you not, something I was considering for years. I had a whole detailed plot around the Hand of Autumn using magic to disguise Deb as Jenny and send her home with Modest to spy on her and influence her. Honestly, I hadn’t completely ruled it out until just a few weeks ago.
Sigh… what it actually says is “Back to the Deep.” But the font I use crams the period too close to the last letter of the sentence. And in the case of the letter P it always makes it look like an R. Usually I manually enter an extra space, but this time I forgot.
Back to the Deer… I don’t recall any deer in MM…
But really, I squinted a bit and it says ‘Deep’ just not at first blush.
Yes, time to add a space there.
Historically speaking, that’s a pretty new thing. Various religions, royals and other people in power like to stay that way, and one of the best ways is to create an environment of close minded fear and proactively shutting down any and all dissent, no matter how benign.
Merelyt *questioning* a Kings right to rule via so-called divine provenance is enough for Royals in old times to have one executed for treason and a church to name one a heretic.
Panel 4, there is a knife blade in the lower left. Who is holding it? It’s not purple/black hair mermaid because her blade is in her left hand in panel 3 and her right hand is empty in panel 5 (so she isn’t dual wielding).
It is the purple mermaid. I shouldn’t have had hr switch hands, but I wanted to make it clear I that panel that she had a knife, and i couldn’t find space for her other hand.
I have to admit you keep me nail biting.
Thats nice to hear.
I am glad that Deb is staying back from this.. gives me hope that she hasn’t abandoned her friend
She is gonna survive , well , it’s a flashback of her , right ?
Plot twist – Jenny loses the fight. That was an evil clone that went back to meet with Modest.
Bom-Bom-Bommmmmmmmmm!

We’ve secretly replaced this mermaid with Folger’s Crystals. Let’s see if the readers notice the difference.
The Mermaid Challenge!
I think you mean “..back to the pier”

For what it’s worth, I read it as “Deep.” Heh heh.
thanks. I’ll still need to fix it eventually.
The joys of optical kerning

We actually see a deer in Season 3.
Plus the dead one that Naga has last season.
I just imagine her telling this story, then Modest pops in with something like, “Oh my gosh!! Did you escape?!”
… then, I remember that Modest isn’t that “innocent,” anymore. And, I get sad.
Modest still gets wrapped up in a good story.
For the Watch
Jeez, has no one in Yeld heard the phrase “you do you”?

Tbh though, the thought of leaving her body to wash back to the deer makes me giggle, just because of the absurdity.
How else would the deer eat?
Well, I guess they would know how to gut a fish…
