-Hey! I’m having a yard sale/open house at my studio in SE Portland tomorrow (Sat the 19th). Find me at the intersection of SE Holgate and Foster on 63rd Ave. I’ll have all kinds of weird stuff for sale!
-Oh, and I’ll have a pretty neat announcement on Monday!
-My friend Neal Byles (of the comic With the Band) is running a Kickstarter to produce some new t-shirts. They’re pretty cool. Check it out here!
Hoo-ly crap. This comic makes me nervous. That snake is WAY too smart.
Well yeah. Remember how her species works? The snakes continue to grow in size and intelligence as the “main” body weakens and eventually becomes unnecessary and is discarded like a shed skin.
Yeah. Every time i want to hi 5 a snake for being clever,i remember the fate of grown up medusa.
Exactly. I look at these things and I’m thinking, don’t grow up too fast Modest O_o
I have years of little snake girl stories left.
I will take refuge in how strange that sentence is.
You never know. When humans enter Yeld they turn into monsters. But if a medusa comes to Earth, she might also grow up to turn into something different.
Her future will eventually be sad, of course. Whether her life span ends up being 20 or 80, it won’t be forever. But knowing you’ll be sad in the future doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be happy now. It makes it even more important.
I can’t remember what you are referencing, but I want to find it so I can share it with my mom. The “Yes, they will be sad, and that’s why it’s important for them to be happy now” bit…. Oh… um, nevermind, it’s Dr Who. Matt Smith, Christmas episode, with the trees and the World War II plane, the Widow, the Wardrobe… something like that. Thanks for the help. I’m just going to leave this string of consciousness as it is.
Whoa! Sneaky is also good at improvising!
I’m really looking forward to seeing where Modest Medusa is created! Yar! 😉
Sneaky is bottom left.
That said, I’m surprised her hair can type.
Oh, Modest. Who misspells their own name?
I’m awful at spelling this week.
CHALRES! It’s ALWAYS Chalres!
Believable excuse up until Meg starts asking for advice on her fish science project.
Actually, that shouldn’t be easy to pick out as fake. Ms Booth would have to set a test…
Ms Booth: Alright, Charles… if y+δy = x²+δx² what is dy/dx as d tends to zero.
Modest: *!!!!* OnO *panic* (types) I don’t know that! *send* Ask me ANYTHING else! *send*
Ms Booth: I know. 🙂 Serves you right for letting Modest pm me like that. 😉 Do it again and it’s a matrix algebra quiz! 😀
Modest: I don’t know what that is either! (types) D-: You are pure evil!!! *send*
Ms Booth: I know, I know. Modest tells me the same thing. So, how have you been?
>:=)> Of course, for all I know, Charles might have a Master’s degree in pure math…
Charles is a master of all science.
Shame you won’t be at Rose City Comic Con. my brother is actually going to this one.
Oh its too bad I’ll miss him. I hope he has fun.
Smart Snake does the typing, Shift Snake is on capitalization duty.
Shift Snake!
Really? I would have thought the Sneaky snake was on capitalization duty. You know, for being so… shifty?
*Runs from objects thrown in his direction*
OMG
Sooo is Sneaky like a repressed part of Modest’s mind? How is it this smart?
I love how Sneaky and Modest are getting along here :D. Sneaky&Modest FTW! Although down the road Sneaky may become the dominant personality while Modest becomes the dull husk of her former self.
That one snake is going to get her out of so much trouble.
It’s shaping up, which part of this hydra will become the dominant intelligence. We don’t want no dopey goofball mythical monsters, after all. Right?
Thank goodness for the smart snake!
So some people are talking about how this is bad as it means one of the snakes is getting smarter and that means the end for Modest. But I don’t think that is the case. We’ve seen that the rules work different in the different realities. I point mostly to the Chainsaw Unicorn, who was a human who became a monster by staying too long in that world.
Who is to say the reverse isn’t true of Jake’s world… that by staying there Modest WON’T change like other Medusas and instead she will simply grow up? Seems to me as long as Modest never goes back to her original world she will be fine.
I SOOO wanted to see this end with “I know that’s you, hair.”
