I’m kinda on the VP’s side here in that last panel. Having a lot of enemies suggests there’s something not right in your life.
To be honest, if your life is too good, you can have a lot of enemies too. If you count people who want to screw you over because of jealousy.
Thats true. You can have people who think of you as enemies, even if that’s not how you think of them.
To be clear, I’m not advocating having enemies. Aside from obvious stuff like Nazis. trying to live your life to be as enemy free as possible seems like a good idea.
Yeah, it’s like he’s a mobster or something.
It’s honestly pretty simple why he has so many enemies
Modest was already established as the next in line for the Prince’s throne
Just being associated with Modest has a high potential of drawing enemies. It’s just very few in the human world have had contact with Yeld and as such wouldn’t even be known by those who want to end or manipulate the royal line
Jake is one of the few who has had contact with Yeld, so he’d gain a lot of enemies as a result, even if we remove Jenny from that list due to being more somebody he hates rather than an enemy

All this being said, the VP should probably be VERY concerned. How long until an enemy of the crown figures out how to get to the regular world and say, takes one of Modest’s classmates hostage?
Sure it’s unlikely due to what we know, with even The Prince admitting Modest is safest on Earth, but the VP *is not privy to that information*
She’s actually, with her *limited information*, taking a huge gamble by allowing Medusa to be there
Yeah. They apparently had some kind of major discussion after Modest’s snakes bit Gene. That led to Modest not being in school for a few weeks, which was when she went on her “Spring Break” back to Yeld. Apparently the came to some kind of understanding which included Modest not using “supernatural powers” at school.
The situation will probably escalate.
Not just a princess, a princess of a magical world. That means she has lots of enemies, a few friends, and assorted hangers-on.
Comic-Jake needs to get some perspective. Jenny isn’t his enemy. She didn’t care a whit who he was when she drowned him and shipped him off to Gorgon. Now, mamma hydra, who Modest loves much less than Jake, could be his enemy.
IDK If someone drowns me, they’re my enemy. Even if to them I was only collateral damage.
