Finally back.
Man, the last two weeks have been a lot.
As you probably know, I went across the country to Kentucky for the GAMA Expo. GAMA is a tabletop game trade show. My brother Nick and I were presenting The Magical Land of Yeld to retailers, distributors and media. The show went well! Nick and I have been trying to make Yeld work as a business for several years, and this was a major step in that direction. My hope is that after this show you’ll be able to find Yeld in a lot more stores across North America.
A lot went wrong too. Not so much at the show, but everything around it. Nick got sick at the last minute and I ended up flying out by myself. I had major plane delays which left me stuck in Dallas for most of a day, and I arrived in Louisville exhausted. Luckily I had a full day to recover before the show started. The first two days of the show were panels and seminars, which were a combination of informative and frustrating. I did learn a lot, but often the information was thing I already knew, and stopped before it covered what I NEEDED to know. Nick was feeling better and able to fly out to join me later in the week, which was good because we had mailed our entire display to a Fedex in Louisville, and since I don’t drive I had no way to get it and transport it to the convention center on my own. The two exhibitor days went very well. We talked to a lot of stores and distributors and Yeld was very well received.
Getting back to Portland was a mess. More long plane delays. When I finally arrived home on Saturday I crashed for 14 hours… and then woke up sick.
The sick part passed pretty quick, but I’ve been massively dehydrated since, which is even worse. When I get dehydrated it sometimes takes a week or more for me to recover. Today is my first day back at work, but I’m planning to cut it shorty after i post this. I’ll probably stay home tomorrow as well. Hopefully I’ll be back with Friday’s strip on time!
Thanks for putting up with a nearly 2 week hiatus.
According to myth, a unicorn’s horn has curative properties. I’d imagine a chainsaw unicorn’s horn has the opposite effect.
I hope you feel better soon!
And I though dehydratation will be fixed like in hour after drinking some water. Granted, complete stabilization can take longer.
Also, on one hand, I suspect the vampires catch up quite fast, on the other, Marah doesn’t seem to be capable of fight …
Woo, the story continues! Welcome back!
And we start with Marah falling from a horse, I think that often leads to serious injuries, like broken bones and such, uh oh!
Sure, Marah, you’re totally fine. Just kissing the ground for luck, are you?
i hope you get feeling better soon, drink plenty and get some rest…you need to take care of you. Be well this day.
Narrator: She was not fine.
That girl has no sense of self preservation. 🙂
Counter point, unicorn:
She literally can not die in Yeld, so maybe just get her tied on and run
