This one went through a lot of changes. At one point it was 7 panels, then 4. I finally decided that simple and quick was better. But that took a whole few days to figure out. Sometimes its like that!
They’re just going to laugh that off, eh? It isn’t that easy to kill a vampire, or it would have been done ages ago.
Um, they’ll write down how they’re laughing? Maybe?
All Earth immigrants cannot stay dead. Unfortunately, since authors like to do “Good is Stupid”, something like burying the body six feet under the ground to prevent them from returning after revivifying would not be done to solve the problem.
Fictional characters in life or death situations don’t always have the luxury of thinking like bored people on the internet with too much time on their hands. I find the “good is stupid” trope is more often a case of the audience not actually putting themselves in the character’s position.
Mara also doesn’t stroke me as the type to ‘conveniently forget’ what she’s learned. I mean, a ferret died teaching her the difference between how natives and outsiders die.
Well, I guess that takes care of that then, and here we were led to believe that the vampire far outmatched her in skill, I guess that overconfidence can fell even the mightiest of combatants. (I just realized that I’m unsure of the vampire’s gender.
Nice job predicting that! Now don’t get complacent, Marah! Don’t consider a vampire out until you see them ashed. And even then some of them are just waiting for round two.
She was purposely guarding with her armored elbow. Cbar could have chose to try to strike her outside of the area she could easily guard, but they were going for the kill, thinking they’d be fast enough to avoid Marah’s defense. Thats what I was trying to show.
I genuinely gasped and went ohh, definitely wasn’t expecting a sudden, seemingly fatal blow; to be fair neither was she. Though I also know not all is as it seems, what’s shown may not mean irrevivable death to the mute vamp.
That will hurt in the morning.

Thats probably true. lets see what happens.
Neither fighter can truly die. It’s all just a matter of incapacitating one of them.
*Are* they both from Earth? We know the other vampire was from Portland, but is this one?
They’re siblings. So probably.
Well, they can speak a little… they did it before.
Though now I pretty much hope they write down their laughter. It’d be way funnier than them actually laughing.
I doubt this is over quite yet but I’m quite sure they weren’t expecting her to put up a fight.
Now that’s more like it!
Oh, deer. That’s gonna make breathing a problem.
It’s also going to hamper the battle repartee. Hard to be clever with a gurgle.
Is breathing something vampires *have* to do?
It is. Unlike a lot of other fictional Vampires, Yeld’s Vampires are living creatures.
Well, I guess that takes care of that then, and here we were led to believe that the vampire far outmatched her in skill, I guess that overconfidence can fell even the mightiest of combatants. (I just realized that I’m unsure of the vampire’s gender.
They is correct.

That’s gonna leave a mark.
Someone might regret not taking this seriously.
I wonder where the other vampire is right now ?
This looks like a bikini armour logic to me. The only body part that actually got protected got striked?

The face of a Skyrim bandit after realizing that trying to rob someone wearing dragon plate was a bad idea.

I must say I’m as surprised as Cbar how effective Marah is.
Now, will Marah remember that this is not the end?
Marah held her own against the prince….for a while, so shes actually capable. just new to Yeld
That was a schlucky blow!
