I also never played any Pokemon, but I was in college when they really got popular. So . . . yes, I definitely had a childhood, just at the wrong time. 😛
On the other hand, my roommate at that time liked the cartoon, and my husband has played quite a few of the DS games over the years. You don’t *have* to be a kid to enjoy the collector’s itch. 🙂
I had mixed feelings. As space it was just fine. Lots of room. Big and airy. Easy to navigate. But it was pretty hard to find and get to. I spoke to lots and lots of people who even on the 3rd day either hadn’t been able to find it or didn’t want to take the long walk around the convention center to get to it. None of the volunteers on day one could tell us where it was either. While the Aa had plenty of traffic, it was considerably less then the crowded convention center. There also weren’t any water fountains or vending machines anywhere nearby, and no atm.
So as I said, mixed feelings. I was pretty frustrated with the con as a whole for the first day, but I thought that once it was actually started it went much smoother. Also, while the volunteers were a mixed bag, the staff was mostly pretty good.
I’m curious, what was your staff position? Do you mind talking about it? I’m considering coming back next year but I have a few questions I’d like to ask first.
I don’t know anything about Pokemon, but this comic made me laugh. 🙂

Obligatory “first” post, I suppose?
Anyway, I’m just glad they assumed that it was Pokemon…

Eh? you were at Fanime? Awesome.
I was too, but as staff so I didn’t get to run around artist alley like last year. You like the aircraft hanger for this year?
