The question remains to be asked; Why didn’t she remove the game cartridge? Well, actually, I suppose part of the pay could’ve been a game. Lame. Poor Medusa!
First! YES 🙂 I feel accomplished now, well that is until there are other comments that are on here but not approved yet….lol anywho, this is funny i laughed so hard 🙂 I love your comic! Cant wait to see more! 🙂
Woohoo! First comment. Anyways, yeah I do know people who think it is the end of the world when they lose their pokemon. GOTTA CATCH ‘EM ALL (AGAIN) POKEMON!
Hey maybe that’s why so many of the fantasy characters in this strip are mean. Someone took their Pokemon. Chainsaw Unicorn would probably be a sweetheart if someone hadn’t stolen his foil Charizard.
Just read this entire comic in one glorious afternoon, after it was recommended to me by someone on John Scalzi’s blog. You should draw more of this, as I am not yet satisfied! This is some great stuff, and now I am addicted…I hope you are happy ;P
I always disliked the mermaids for tricking medusa into going to another world and being so mean to her, but I am starting to think medusa deserved it?
even if you make a character say something as a joke, it is still something that character has said and becomes part of their personality. I could be reading into it too much but someone more concerned about their DS than the person who gave them food and shelter when they had nothing doesn’t seem like someone who deserves that kindness.
True, though I still allow Medusa the leeway of children with jumbled priorities and histrionic responses. Loosing the DS is the most recent tragedy and can feel like, within a child’s narrow worldview, the end of the world.
Poor medusa. It was time to put the DS away along with transient pop-culture jokes. The comic’s too good for that. 🙂
That said, I’m very impressed how quickly the comic moved beyond scatological, nerd culture, and fourth-wall jokes to this quality stuff – in less than a year. At this point, I might end up missing the pokemons though.

Actually, I was wondering that too. Pokemon are on the cartridge, not the DS. But its hard to tell if Medusa even knows that.
Medusa isn’t as cute when she’s angry.
Medusa’s face in the 1st panel <3 Can she get any cuter?
cmon which would you be sadder to lose Pikachu or jake?
Yay new comic and glomp hey how old is medusa I mean developmentally
Medusa is such a woobie I just wanna give her a big hug
5 or 6.

Welcome to my life, no heat in my room EVER.

time to run to wally world {walmart} and buy 6 blankets and make a blanket pile to keep warm. Also I Hope Marah got a Guide to Yeld during that trade.
Catching sooooo many pokemon is hard work though! Medusa always so cute 😀
DS and Pokemon: Serious business
PRIORITIES!
You got them Medusa. XD
BTW is it just me that thinks that that DS won’t last too long without electric power? 😀
She has a point. Uhhh…Jake? That hat. Does anyone else want a Modest Medusa hat?
I thought for sure the snake was going to bite, ah well. At this rate though, she’s going to forget about the stone Mermaid soon!
Hell yeah! I know how she feels. It’s really the most worse thing to happen :'(
Losing all ur pokemanz is horrible after all…medusa logic wins
Depends how many Pokemon you had, Medusa
However, if you had any shinies, then you are free to rage
any plan where you lose your pokemans is a bad plan.
Sounds like it’s time for a hobo trash can fire.
aye time for hobo trash can jake you have enough paper in the studio and wooden pencils to feed it for few hours or so if its full artist studio
Hey, priorities.
I love her furrowed brow!
Can I create a forum and wikia about this comic jake?
Sure.
yea, but jake can buy her a new ds, her ds can’t rescue jake. well, i guess it is, in a way. better to give up the ds, that to have to work it off.

Yay now I just need to learn how
This is probably a good place to start: http://www.wikia.com/Wiki_Creation_Policy
Just thought of something
WHY didn’t she take out the game first? The woman seemed more interested in the DS than anything else
Same way I felt when my little brother decided to delete 32 hours worth of gameplay in JSRF. WORST. DAY. EVER.
Yes. My younger brother sold his XBOX, which had a full year worth of JSRF saves on it. I was SOOOOOOO INCREDIBLY ANGRY!
At least her worst days priorities are straight
Snake: oh come on!
Isn’t this the DS that just FELL IN THE LAKE?!

I’m drawing as fast as I can.
Jake i was looking at your Ads and i came to the realization
I Like the word Panties. not negligee, underpants, teddy, or any other word associated with it. Am I weirder then most weird people?
No, no. Panties is a fun word. Like Kangaroo and Drum.
OK, you’re the one who brought kangaroos and panties up in the same sentence. Just saying.
she just lost all her pokemon, you all should be crying majorly right now
I’m glad she has her priorities straight.
