– Have you ever wanted to buy a Modest Medusa book, except you don’t like books? I know that sounds ridiculous, but that’s what some of you tell me. “I’d buy your book, but books re kind of dumb. Also, I don’t like to read” (I swear one of you said that to me once!). Anyway, you can now buy Modest Medusa Season 1 as a downloadable PDF. It’s available from Drivethrucomics.com for just $6.00, and includes all the cool bonus comics, author’s note sand extras from the hardcover version of the book. I’ll be making Season 2 available next week for the same price. look for them on Comixology too at some point in the future.

‘Bring me a better lunch’? Wow, what an ass, expecting her students to feed her? Bitch, bring your own, you’re a damn teacher, ain’t their responsibility to feed you.
Panel #3 is so cute and funny~! Love it.
She’s Jake’s friend, and picking on your friend’s kids is the greatest thing in the world…sure she overstepped her bounds as a teacher by swiping Modest’s lunch, but that is ultimately between her and Jake…and she probably bets he’ll think it’s hilarious.
I agree. Because Jake is her friend he will not believe Modest and just brush it off. Never have your child be with your teacher if you were friends with the teacher first.
But for all seriousness that teacher sucks.
Modest: …so, what shall I say to Ms. Booth? That she doesn’t deserve a fancy sandwich because she’s so mean? That you told her to get lost? That you told her to go to Heck? That you’d rather give a fancy sandwich to Prince Meanypants Dragul? That you said-
Jake: *finishes making fancy sandwich* Now, give that one to Ms. Booth, and tell her that I hope she enjoys it!
Modest: *speechless* D-:
>:=)>
That’s pretty much how I envision it too…
Now she’s planning ahead of time to steal Modest’s lunch.
She’s going to be joking about the sandwiches. Even ignoring the wrath of the snakes, you’d have to be pretty dumb to eat any sandwiches given to you by a vengeful child…
I think that her relationship with Jake is creating problems with her relationship with Modest.
But….but…how can anyone hate books?
@GreenwoodGoat: I like your username. (I have to drive through a town named Greenwood nearly every morning. Nice place, bad traffic.) As for your comic, yes. Yes, I believe you have captured Jake/Modest’s essences XD
If Modest was aged up about 5+ years, this might be more funny. The teacher comes off as a lazy loser—certainly not someone a (good) private school would keep on hand very long. The “don’t be a jerk” rule was kind of funny (though what makes a “jerk” is sometimes subjective), but it doesn’t work very well given the teacher’s own crappy behavior—which is really off the mark for a kindy teacher. These things the little kids are explaining to Modest really should have been covered by the teacher. The food thing is really *bullying*. I love the dark humor we often see here, but this is a tough story to read.
pdfs re: kind of dumb
I just wanted to say that. Anyway, I get the vibe that the teach is trying to joke, though at Modest’s expense.
What kind of jackass teacher is that? Is this douchebag seriously expected to teach kids how to be better people?
There is obviously some history there. She will get the sandwich and, maybe, Modest will get an explanation.
Ok, by this point, I’m sure there will be a good explanation for the teacher’s behavior in the future. She can’t just be trolling, can she?
I’m still not exactly sure why it is that she seems to think she is entitled to some of Medusa’s sandwiches.
Was that an agreement she made with Jake?
“Books are for Egg-heads”
(gasp!) I’m an egghead!
Hang on, does she only have two fingers (plus thumb)?
She has these kind of weird flipper hands. Sometimes she has thumbs and a finger, but sometimes they’re just flippers.
I just cannot believe this teacher!! She can’t seriously expect food from her own students, much less one that she just met.
This is pretty much me whenever I deal with someone who’s excessively pissed about nothing.
…
Am I a bad person?
While the teacher seems like a jerk, don’t forget that Modest tends to overreact about everything that doesn’t fit within her ideas of how things should work. The teacher is not saying “I’m gonna steal your lunch tomorrow”, she’s saying “Tell your dad I want something nice too”.
“I’d buy your book, but books are kind of dumb. Also, I don’t like to read.”
Was that me? That sounds like something I would say.
I don’t know. I was mostly being sarcastic, except every now and then I run into people who say stuff like that. “I don’t read”. Really? You should.
This is entirely unrelated to your comment or the comic and I’m sorry about that, but thank you for having that link in your name! The Final Fantasy MUD seems really neat – I’d never tried one beforehand – and while I didn’t have the time to get anywhere farther than the tutorial level I look forward to playing through some more of it in the future~!
Pffft Ha! Okay I really like this teacher now.
Did you get the message I sent you on Facebook? I sent it there to avoid spoiling a possible joke for anyone else who reads comments.
I don’t think I did?
I sent it to Jake At Celstyle.
I guess I somehow missed it?
It’s still there, if you want to read it at any time.
I feel bad for the creator, as I get the sense he wants us to like the teacher but literally every time she appears she comes off as a bitch to the readers.
Honestly, maybe he should just give up and introduce a new teacher character, as it is clear that the fans (and I include myself) won’t be on the teacher’s side for a LONG time.
Seriously, why would Jake enroll Modest in a school with an ex, who is clearly a mean ex!?
For those reading for the first time: there is a satisfying amd substantial payoff that comes up.
Also, I just noticed the vanity plate. Cute ♡
You do realize, this means war?
