That’s … that’s not good.
I guess the playground has a new statue. At least there’s a goal for Mermaid School now.
Well crap. This isn’t good. Gina’s kind of a brat, but she doesn’t deserve to be turned to stone.
Uh oh. That’s not going to end well.
Ruh-roh.
Crap! Not good, not good. Unless Modest learns a way to undo her stone bite she is going to be in big trouble. Not being allowed back in school will be the least of her problems.
Also, Gina’s dead. I feel that’s a slightly more pressing consequence than being expelled.
…
Also, Modest may be tried for manslaughter… maybe… wait, what’s the precedent for an illegal alien/monster/minor committing a crime in Oregon?
That’s why I said the “least of her problems.”
The dream has come true – bom bom bommmmmmmmm (sort of)
There is always the possibility that humans are immune. It takes some sort of fish hormone to activate the petrifying toxins, etc. etc. This sounds like a question for fish science.
Also the possibility that it doesn’t work outside of Yeld.
NnnooooOO!!!!
Oh dear. Well… maybe the snakes can control the venom now?
Or maybe only one bite will make it go very slowly so Modest will have to go around town and help people with their problems using a magical notebook she finds that allows her to create any object by drawing in it
and then the town gets overrun by sheep
I get that reference!
Welp, somebody’s going to be left severely traumatised.
Kid’s dying? The media never likes that one….
I don’t see how this leads to her eating a bug.
Well I mean, if she’s petrified with her mouth open, they could crawl in there.
Oh… fisc!
Ruh-roh, Shaggy!!
Is it wrong that I read the “Shut up, Meg!” in Peter Griffen’s voice?
The sad thing is, I wanted this to happen to Gina. Unfortunately, I’ve known kids like this as a child–the old “If you play with so and so, I won’t be your friend.” I wish my hair could have bitten all those bullies in the afterschool program. Not turn them to stone, mind you. Just biting them would be fine.
well fuck. i guess that’s life, with no chance of parole
I’d say she’d get off easy, what with her being a minor. But seeing as she’s an illegal alien, and also a monster, she may be deported back to her world ๐
And this is why Medusa is not allowed to play outside. (I’d hate to be the principal who has to make the call.)
Maybe the different snakes that make up her hair have different effects?
Perhaps with one bite it’s only temporary paralysis? Or perhaps it’s slow enough that some magic can reverse it?
On the other hand, this comic has had its dark sides already… I just feel bad for M&M now (Meg and Medusa). Gina won’t be able to feel bad soon.
Oh, no! ๐
Uh oh. Hopefully those snake bites have different results in our world from what happened in Yeld…
rut roh. hair is going to be expelled. Thankfully it’s its own student..
OOh a new lawn ornaments for the family.
This can lead to all sorts of trouble if they can’t turn her back. More then not being allowed back in school, this could be considered murder.
It seems like, given Modest’s age and the circumstances, it wouldn’t result in a murder charge according to traditional legal standards.
The problem is that this is could bring a LOT of unwanted attention down on Modest and Jake, resulting in her being taken away and treated in whatever horrific way the government is liable to treat a literal mythical creature, him facing charges for harboring her in the first place, and potentially every witness to her existence being silenced by some nasty means.
Ooooooh noooooo…
๐จ oh crap
*sigh*
And just yesterday I was thinking this might happen. And very sincerely hoping it wouldn’t.
Here’s also hoping that either her venom doesn’t work properly outside of her magic home realm….or something else that’ll keep this from turning into a shitstorm.
I’m guessing that the snake-power doesn’t work in our world? Or they need to ‘fire it up’ to stone someone? Turning a murderous mermaid to stone in self-defence is one thing, but killing a kid in a playground dispute is entirely another!
Even the act of her hair-snake harming a child will have hard consequences… even if it’s just a little scratch.
This turned dark fast.
knew it.
maybe it’ll be okay?
Oh no, I thought it might have been the “sneaky” one that becomes the dominant big head when the humanlike personality dies.
And then I swore out loud. o.O
Pardon me for biting you there,
It was not me, it was my hair,
You should have left my friend alone,
‘Cause now you’ll be a piece of stone!
>:=)>
Thinking about it, I don’t know if anyone’s familiar with the playground rhyme that this was based on. So here is the original, which could be recited after burping audibly:
Pardon me for being so rude,
It was not me, it was my food;
If it had been below my heart,
It would have been a smelly fart!
Modest: Hey, I like that! :-} Wait, how do I burp? Can I burp? Can snakes burp? *pulls her hair round to face her* Well??
>:=)>
I’d never heard that before, but I liked your version anyway.
Not the sneaky one, the one that comes out of her mouth
I’m tickled pink that Meg took the words right outta my mouth! XD
Thanks Jake! I feel that’s the closest to a cameo I may come to for quite a while!
(^3^)-b
Well, it was already said that her biting powers doesn’t work outside Yeld (she bite Marah another time) so beside a bit bleeding, there nothing to worry much about…unless she started to develop her powers to work outside of Yeld…
Got a link to that?
Gina is…. a Lawn Gnome!!
The other two snakes are probably saying:You messed up big time Sneaky
That escalated quickly.
Quick Modest! Clamp your mouth on the wound and suck out the poison!
Jake, you’ve made me invoke JonTron.
+1
