– On Sunday we had the first ever Modest Medusa live draw. It lasted about 2 hours, and you can see the art that came out of it below. The live draw is a new monthly thing that’s made possible by your Patreon contributions. I can afford to take a few hours off every now and than to just hang out and draw and chat with you guy, thanks to you guys! You can watch the whole thing here. The session ended up being divided between a few videos, and there’s no sound (all you’re missing is my music though), but those are problems I’ll fix for the next one.
Here’s the quick sketch I did right as the session started.
Here’s the Medusa/Legend of Korra fan art I was working on during the session. It’s not quite finished yet. I still need to add some highlights and change the background. I’m a HUGE Korr fan, and KorrAsami is probably my OTP. If comic Jake ever dies I’m hoping Korra and Asami will adopt Medusa!
– It’s still Modest Medusa Patreon month, and the goal is still $800. We gained $10 over the weekend, so we’re still moving! Thanks guys! Your Patreon contributions help me make a living doing comics and give me financial freedom to spend time making art instead of doing crap day work. In return, you get more art and comics from me, plus stuff like the live drawing sessions. Our next Milestone Goal (at $800) is a regular “Ask Medusa” feature, where I’ll draw Medusa answering reader questions. It should be pretty cool!
You can check out my Patreon page here. Even a $1-5 each month really helps, and I certainly appreciate the support!
– I’ll be at the Portland Zine Symposium this weekend. Come by and say hi!
Is that what we call “Having a bad hair day”….?
You don’t need her phone number. Just get a phone book and look up her na-
Oh, yeah, right.
Of the Portland Ekans.
Her snakes are “special.”
I like to think at times that’s how my repeated rejections went.
“Why you little!…” *strangles snake*
“Digits” of course referring both to the phone number and Modest Medusa’s lack of fingers…
Well not that way, that’s for sure
Those snakes are flat-out trolls. I love it.
I have the exact same doll, only mine looks a little more worn down, had Ryo-Ohki for years now, since I was, like, 14. (Got it a little after falling in love with it on the original Toonami)
The snakes grow and feed on negative emotions. If Medusa is happy, confident, and the like when she grows up she will look like the Medusa of Legend. But if she gives into fear, doubt, anger, and pain. The snakes will overcome her and she’ll just wither away.
Old Man: There are two wolves that battle inside of us child. One is our darkness. Pain, Anger, Fear, and Despair. The Other is our Hope, our Faith, Our Kindness, and Happiness.
Boy: Which Wolf wins?
Old Man: The One you feed.
They don’t want her to have friends they want her to loose her emotions and wither away.
hm, and i always thought ‘choking my snake’ is just an euphemism for….you know 😉
I don’t know why, but when I saw the “!” it made the metal gear exclamation sound in my head 😛 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KNJ1B_2b17s
Yeah, that was what I was hoping for. Im a big metal gear fan.
While the series is, as a whole, not as… grandiose shall we say, as The Last Airbender. Legend of Korra is still a load of fun. Bo-Lin is hilarious, the group is awesome with great use of powers, we get to see the Avatar-State a little more, and Korra is downright adorable. Also, Zuko! Aieeee! *man-fangasm* Gods these people live a long time. Pure rage keeps him alive, I like to think. I wonder who else is still alive of the original cast? I kinda hope Sokka still is, because Sokka is king.
Later:
Modest: Hi! This one here ate that number thing, so I followed you home. Also, what was I supposed to do with it?
Mom: There you are, honey! And who’s your little friend?
Modest: I’m called Modest! And my hair’s being a pain!
Mom: Well, I can think of something to do about that! How about a nice plait and some good, strong hair ties?
Snakes: *!!!!*
Mom: Now come on… I’ve dealt with more uncooperative hair than you lot…
Snakes: *HSSSSSS* :{}
Mom: Ha, no you don’t… gotcha! And there we go, and there.. and there.. and there and there and… there! All done!
Snakes: … :{
>:=)>
…although I’m sure there are plenty of mothers like that out there… be it hair or snakes, they can bring any unruly locks under control – regardless of resistance or risk.
I like this idea.
Well, feel free to help yourself. >;=)>
So the front LEFT snake is getting into the trolling action now.

You really need to check this out, new cartoon by the director of MLP called Medusa. It is supposed to be a comedy.
Huh. Could be cool?
